Champions Trophy Prize Money: How Much Do Winners India & Runners-Up New Zealand Get?

Team India is set to be awarded a massive prize purse after claiming the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title. Another global cricket title was achieved by India with a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final on Sunday.

 

The triumph marked India’s victory in 24 matches across the last three men’s ICC tournaments since 2023. In the light of the victory, the team was also granted a substantial cash reward of Rs 20 crore by the International Cricket Council. Surprisingly, it still falls short of the amount received by Rishabh Pant, the highest-paid player at the IPL 2025 auction.

 

A substantial prize of Rs 20 crore ($2.24 million) was awarded to Team India by the International Cricket Council following their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. History was written at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium as the subcontinent’s champions overcame the Kiwis with a four-wicket win. Meanwhile, New Zealand, as the runner-up, was allocated Rs 9.72 crore ($ 1.12 million) for ending second in the tournament. Surprisingly, Rishabh Pant, who remained on the sidelines throughout the tournament, earned a record-breaking INR 27 crore deal with the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025 auction.

India’s Champions Trophy victory was praised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which is also predicted to grant rewards to the Indian players for their winning campaign in the tournament. The team’s achievements in Dubai were acknowledged as they ended a 12-year title drought by bringing home the glorious championship.

 

Starting from the total cash prize of $6.9 million (~Rs 60 crore), a sum of $2.24 million (~Rs. 19.53 crore) has been awarded to India for being crowned the champions. For standing unbeaten in the group stage with victories over Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, an extra $102,000 (~ Rs. 88.96 lakh)was earned- $ 34,000 for each victory. Moreover, a guaranteed price fund of $ 125,000 (~Rs 1.09 crore) was allocated to each participating team.

Overall, India’s victory in the Champions Trophy in Dubai led to total prize winnings of $2.467 million (~Rs 21.52 crore).

India’s chase in the Champions Trophy final was guided by Rohit Sharma, a well-crafted 76 off 83 balls by Rohit Sharma, along with KL Rahul’s unbeaten 34, guided the team to 254-6 in 49 overs, securing the third title. New Zealand’s innings resulted in a total of 251-7 in 50 overs after they opted to bat first, with Dayl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell contributing vital half-centuries on a tricky match in Dubai.

 

A strong foundation for India’s innings was laid by Rohit Sharma, who struck seven fours and three sixes, while Hardik Pandya’s quick 18 off 18 balls contributed to a key 38-run partnership with Rahul for the sixth wicket.
