Rajat Patidar was named the player of the match for his splendid half-century. His knock powered RCB to a great score of 196 runs. On a slow pitch at Chidambaram Stadium, the score proved to be a match-winning total. Patidar struck four fours and three sixes in his 32-ball knock. He rode his luck and was saved by pretty shoddy fielding from CSK. Patidar’s three catches were dropped and the hosts had to pay for their mistakes as he played a match-winning knock.
Rajat Patidar leading from the front scored a fine half-century and helped his team win their first game at Chepauk since 2008. The right-handed batter never let the spin trio of Noor Ahmad, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin settle. His batting against the three spinners was crucial for RCB as they broke the 17-year-long losing streak at the venue.
Josh Hazlewood since making a return from his injury has been back to his best. He was the point of difference against Kolkata Knight Riders with the new ball and continued his great form tonight as well. Playing against his former team, Hazlewood picked up three wickets including the scalps of Rahul Tripathi, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Noor Ahmad dons the purple cap after picking up a three-fer against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Even though the Super Kings lost the game, Noor remained unplayable for the RCB batters. He picked up the wickets of the two opening batters, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli. Coming back to bowl for another spell, the Afghan spinner dismissed Liam Livingstone.
Rajat Patidar led from the front and scored a crucial half-century at CSK’s den. With his team searching for their first win at the stadium since 2008, Patidar’s knock of 51 runs pushed the visitors to a total of 196 runs. Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal, and Tim David played great cameos to power RCB to a total that looked well above par.
For CSK, Noor Ahmad once again showed why he was given the massive amount of ₹10 crores at the auction. In the two games so far at the venue, the Afghan spinner has been the point of difference. He picked up three wickets in four in the first innings and went for 36 runs in his four overs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru completed a famous 50-run victory over their southern neighbors in the second innings. Josh Hazlewood was the star performer for the Rajat Patidar-led side. The Australian pacer picked up three wickets in his quota of four overs. He went for only 21 runs thanks to the extreme control shown by him. Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone picked up two wickets each in an all-round bowling effort by the visitors.
For CSK, it was a disappointing showing with the bat in hand. Like in the first game, Rachin Ravindra top-scored, but, unfortunately for the hosts it came in a losing cause. MS Dhoni played a few Instagram-worthy shots in the end. However, it proved to be too little too late as the Super Kings lost the game by 50 runs.
