It was only a short while ago that Tilak Varma was retired by the MI camp. However, since then the left-handed batter has batted with a great deal of grit and determination. The results too have come his way as the left-handed batter has scored back-to-back fifties. Against DC, Tilak scored 59 runs in only 33 balls hitting six fours and three sixes.

Nair’s knock consisted of 12 fours and five sixes.
Kuldeep Yadav continued his fine form in the season. As the table-toppers played their first game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium their lead spinner was among the wickets in the first innings. The left-arm chinaman picked up two wickets. His scalps included Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav. While his team conceded 205 runs, Kuldeep went for only 23 runs in his four overs. Without his controlled spell, MI would have ended up scoring at least 15-20 runs more.
It was a fiery display of batting from the visitors as they ended up scoring 205 runs in the first innings. Tilak Varma after being retired a couple of games before has staged a great comeback. He scored a fifty in the previous game against RCB before scoring 59 runs tonight against Delhi Capitals in only 33 balls.
Tilak received a great deal of support from Suryakumar Yadav and Naman Dhir. Surya and Ryan Rickelton too contributed with a couple of knocks of 40 runs. However, it was Dhir who provided a great finishing touch to the first innings. The right-handed batter scored 38 runs off only 17 deliveries hitting three fours and a couple of sixes.
For the hosts, Kuldeep Yadav continued with his fine form in the season. The left-arm chinaman picked up a couple of wickets dismissing SKY and Rickelton. However, it was his economical spell that made a huge dent in the MI batting order. Kuldeep conceded only 23 runs in his four overs and was the pick of the bowlers. His partner in crime, young Vipraj Nigam too picked up a couple of wickets but was expensive as 41 runs were scored off his four overs.
It was a one-man show from Karun Nair for Delhi Capitals. The right-handed batter scored 89 runs in only 40 balls and smashed a fifty in the IPL after a gap of seven years. His knock consisting of 12 fours and five sixes had almost sealed the win for the hosts. However, the MI bowlers led by Karn Sharma made a huge comeback in the game.
