Mumbai Indians are coming into this game after two wins on the trot. They were chasing their eight-ball against Delhi Capitals before they strung together some moments of brilliance and won by 12 runs. However, against SRH, in their previous game, MI bowlers were right on the money as they restricted the supposedly most dangerous batting unit to a score of 162 runs. While the Hardik Pandya-led side came short against CSK in their opening game of the season, they are in much better shape now with Jasprit Bumrah and the skipper himself back in the playing XI.
Chennai Super Kings, unlike Mumbai Indians, have suffered because of an injury to arguably their best top-order batter and regular captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad. While replacing Gaikwad as the captain is like a piece of cake for MS Dhoni, replacing him as a batter is proving to be a cause of concern for the team from the South. If Devon Conway does make a return to the playing 11, CSK’s batting would be much better than it was during their win against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday.
