Top Uncapped Players Who Impressed This Season

The Indian Premier League has been a platform where the talent meets opportunity and this is the league where the young stars get a good amount and a platform to showcase their talent and worth in front of millions fans around the world. The IPL can also be the medium to get into the Indian team as well if the uncapped players do well.

Here Are The 7 Uncapped Players Who Stole The Show In The TATA IPL 2025 Edition –

1.  Priyansh Arya

The opening batter of the Punjab Kings, who ended as the runners up in this edition of the Indian Premier League was good for his team. Arya provided many explosive starts in the innings for PBKS with his partner Prabsimran Singh. Arya was brought for 3.8 crores in the season of the TATA IPL 2025 and he was very impactful for his franchise side. Arya scored 475 runs in 17 matches and 17 innings with an average of 27.94 and a strike rate of 179.25. He also smashed 103 runs versus Chennai Super Kings in this season. Arya also scored 25 sixes and 55 boundaries in the TATA IPL 2025 edition.

2. Prabsimrah Singh

The Punjab Kings is the most benefitted team because of their uncapped players. Prabsimran Singh the opener partner of the above mentioned Priyansh Arya, has been mentioned in this list as well. This PBKS opener, Singh, was the eighth highest run getter of this season of the Indian Premier League 2025 edition. He scored 549 runs from 17 matches and that many innings. He also scored four half centuries, 30 sixes and 56 boundaries in this edition. Prabsimrah was brought for four crores.

3.  Nehal Wadhera

Another PBKS batter has been mentioned in this list of the uncapped players who did well in this season of the Indian Premier League. Nehal Wadhera was the middle order batter in the batting line up of the PBKS side. Wadhera was brought for 4.2 crores in this season. Nehal scored 369 runs with two half centuries. He played 16 matches in TATA IPL 2025. His average was 30.75 and strike rate was 145.85.

4. Shashank Singh

The lower order batter of the Punjab Kings, Shashank Singh played a good knock in the TATA IPL 2025 finals against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But he didn’t get the much needed support from the other end and that’s his knock went in vain. Shashank was brought for four crores in this season. He scored 350 runs with an average of 50 and a strike rate of 153.51. Singh also smashed three half centuries in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League.

5.  Naman Dhir

This batter from the Mumbai Indians has quietly earned a name of a finisher in this season of the Indian Premier League. Naman Dhir was very impressive in the backend of an T20 innings, especially when the team needed slog overs in the last four overs. Naman scored 252 runs from 16 matches with a strike rate of 182.61. His strike rate clearly shows that he can hit the ball a long way. His average in this season was 31.50. Dhir was brought for the price of 5.25 crores by the five time champion side of the Mumbai Indians. Naman was brought through the Right To Match (RTM) option.

6.  Ayush Mahtre

The Yellow Army didn’t have an IPL edition to remember in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League. CSK finished last on the points table. However, Ayush Mahtre is the positive for them which they can invest and look forward to in the upcoming IPL seasons to come. Mahtre came in the replacement of CSK’s skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and now he can be a permanent feature of this franchise side. Ayush was brought for his base price of 30 lakhs. The CSK opener played just seven matches. But he showed his worth by scoring 240 runs with 11 sixes and 31 fours. Ayush also has the sixth best strike rate of this season, 188.98 and his average in TATA IPL 2025 was 34.29.

7.  Vaibhav Suryavanshi

The opener batter of the Rajasthan Royals, Vaibhav Suryavanshi created many records in this TATA IPL 2025 edition. The teenage batter is the young to play the Indian Premier League and also smash a ton in this cash rich league tournament. He also scored the second fastest century of this cash rich league tournament. He even won an award of the Super Striker in this edition. Suryavanshi has the third best strike rate in this edition. He scored 252 runs from seven matches with an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.56. Vaibhav also smashed 101 runs in the game against Gujarat Titans.

Costly Players Who Gave A Flop Show This Season

Shreyas Iyer was the second most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League and this season of the TATA IPL 2025. The skipper of the Punjab Kings team led the team from the front in this 18th edition. Iyer continued his rich captaincy legacy which he carried from Delhi Capitals, he took them to their maiden IPL playoffs and the finals.

Then with the Kolkata Knight Riders, Shreyas Iyer won them the title of the TATA IPL 2024 edition. In this 18th edition of the Indian Premier League 2025 edition, Iyer was brought for 26.75 crores, the second expensive player and the captain of the IPL and this edition. Iyer led his team to the final destination. But failed to achieved the glory this time. PBKS reached just their second finals of the IPL tournament.

Iyer showed his full worth of the 26.75 crores which were paid to him by the franchise side of the Punjab Kings. But there were some players who failed to raise their bar even when they were signed for the whopping amounts in the two day mega auctions of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League.

1. Rishabh Pant

The wicketkeeper batter of the Indian Team, Rishabh Pant was signed as the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League. Pant wasn’t retained by Delhi Capitals and he was brought by Lucknow Super Giants for 27 crores. But in returm, the flamboyant wicketkeeper batsman, Pant gave disappointment to his LSG owners and his fans. Pant scored just 269 runs with an average of 24.45. He scored a century in a match which was a dead rubber game for Lucknow. But his innings of 118 runs also ended on a losing cause against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

2. Venkatesh Iyer

This batter from the team of the former defending champions of the TATA IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders also had a poor season of the Indian Premier League 2025. Venkatesh Iyer was brought for 23 crores, the third most expensive player in the TATA IPL 2025 season managed to score 149 runs in the 11 games. Venkatesh was picked as an all rounder. But he didn’t bowl a single over in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League.

3. Glenn Maxwell 

The Big Show, who retired from the ODIs had a given a no show in this season of the Indian Premier League. Maxwell had a poor season for the RCB team last year and that’s why they didn’t retain him and again he was sold to the Punjab Kings. Maxi got the price of 4.2 cores. But he responded with just 41 runs in six outing of this season of the IPL.

Apart from Shreyas Iyer, The other players like KL Rahul, Trent Boult, Jos Buttler and Arshdeep Singh did a decent job for their teams in this season of the IPL. These five players who did well and proved their worth right for the IPL franchise teams are also a big named players in the arena of International cricket.
