The India Champions are set to start their WCL 2025 campaign against the arch-rivals Pakistan on July 20, 2025, at Edgbaston, Birmingham. They have announced their squad for the World Championship of Legends League 2025th edition. The squad consists of 16 members, with the legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh leading the side for the 2nd season as well.
Seven players are missing from last season’s squad. The players who have been missing are RP Singh, Rahul Shukla, Dhawal Kulkarni, Anureet Singh, Naman Ojha, Rahul Sharma, and Saurabh Tiwari.. The new players who have been added to the squad this season are Shikhar Dhawan, Piyush Chawla, Stuart Binny, Varun Aaron, Abhimanyu Mithun, and Siddarth Kaul.
The India Champions squad has several match winners. They also have a number of all-rounders who give the right balance to the team. Their batting line-up is filled with hard hitters like Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, and Yusuf Pathan. The team also boasts a strong top order featuring Shikhar Dhawan, Robin Uthappa, and Ambati Rayudu. In the pace department, India Champions have an impressive lineup that includes Irfan Pathan, Stuart Binny, Varun Aaron, Vinay Kumar, and Siddarth Kaul. The team also has a spin attack to control the middle overs. With a blend of hard hitters, solid top order, and a potent bowling attack, the India Champions is ready to defend their title.
The India Champions will play a total of five games in the league stage of the WCL 2025. They will play their first game on July 20, 2025, against Pakistan. Then, they will take on the South Africa Champions on July 22. The India Champions will lock horns against Australia Champions on July 26. They will play the last two games against England Champions and West Indies Champions on July 27 and 29, respectively. The India Champions will get two more games if they reach the semifinal and win as well.
The India Champions have only managed to win two out of five games in the WCL 2024 league stage. But still, they reached the top 4 and then went on to win the title. They overcame the Australian Champions in the semifinal with a convincing 86-run victory. The WCL 2024 final was held at Edgbaston, Birmingham, where the India Champions triumphed over the Pakistan Champions. In the summit clash, they successfully chased down a target of 157, securing the win with 5 wickets in hand and 5 balls remaining.
