What Is India's Schedule for WTC 2025 To 2027?

India will start their new cycle of WTC in England from Friday, 20th June 2025 at Leeds. Gill and his men will compete against The BAZBALL and play a series of five red ball matches during this tour to the United Kingdom. India is also set to play a home series versus West Indies, South Africa and against The Aussies in this cycle WTC cycle of 2025 to 2027. The Blues will also travel to Sri Lanka and New Zealand as well.

India Tour Of England 2025

India will play the first red ball match of this five match series at Leeds in just two days time. This series will also mark the new cycle of the WTC 2025 to 2027 for The Men in Blue. In the 2021 series as well, India’s new World Test Championship cycle was started with a five match red ball series in England. That series ended in a draw as the last match was postponed to 2022 and that encounter was won by England.

  • 1st Test at Leeds From Friday, 20th June 2025 to Tuesday, 24th June 2025

  • 2nd Test Match at Birmingham from Wednesday, 2nd July 2025 to Sunday, 6th July 2025

  • 3rd Test Match at Lords from Thursday, 10th July 2025 to Monday, 14th July 2025

  • 4th Test Match at Manchester from Wednesday, 23rd July 2025 to Sunday, 27th July 2025

  • 5th Test Match at Kennington Oval from Thursday, 31st July 2025 to Monday, 4th August 2025

The timings for this five match series is – 3.30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST), 10 AM GMT and 11 AM Local.

West Indies Tour Of India 2025

The Caribbean side will play a series of two match series of the red ball form of the game on this tour to India in 2025. The two test matches would be played in the month of October 2025. India toured West Indies in 2023 for a two match Test series under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and won that series by a 1-0 margin.

  • 1st Test Match at Ahmedabad from Thursday, 2nd October 2025 to Monday, 6th October 2025

  • 2nd Test Match at Delhi from Friday 10th October 2025 to 14th October 2025.

The timings for this two match red ball series is – 9.30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) and local, 4 AM GMT.

South Africa Tour Of India 2025

The current champions of The World Test Championship, The Proteas will be in India to play a series of two red ball matches, five match T20 International series and three games in the fifty over format on this tour to India later this year of 2025. The two matches will be the part of WTC new cycle and that is why the schedule of the white ball matches is not listed here as this segment which is only for India’s matches in the new cycle of the World Test Championship, 2025 to 2027.

  • 1st Test Match at Kolkata from Tuesday, 14th November 2025 to Tuesday, 18th November 2025

  • 2nd Test Match at Guwahati from Saturday, 22nd November 2025 to Wednesday, 26th November 2025.

The timings of this two red ball matches are – 9.30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) and Local, 4 AM GMT.

India will play 18 red ball games during this period of the World Test Championship 2025 to 2027. The Blues will travel to play 2 red ball matches each against Sri Lanka and New Zealand while Australia will tour India to play a series of five match series of the Test format. But a formal announcement is yet to be made for those three series of the red ball form of the game.

India Tour Of Sri Lanka, 2026

India will be making a trip down south to their neighbouring island, Sri Lanka, in August 2026. The series will comprise two tests, and it will be their second away series of the cycle after starting with a five-match series in England. Given that it is a two-match series, it will be crucial for both teams to bring their A-game in both matches.

The schedule and venue for these two matches are yet to be determined. However, the series will be, in all likelihood, played in August 2026.

India Tour Of New Zealand, 2026

After Sri Lanka, India’s next away assignment will be in New Zealand. It has not been a great hunting ground for the visitors, having last won a test in the country in 2009. Since then, in six games in New Zealand, India has lost three matches while the remaining ended in draws. It will be the first time that India will face the Blackcaps in a test series after being handed an infamous white-wash at the hands of the Kiwis at home in late 2024.

The exact schedule and venue for the two-match series are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, it is expected that the matches will take place in October 2026.

Australia Tour Of India, 2027

Given that India and Australia have been the most consistent teams in the three seasons of the WTC, it will be a massive series for both teams and fans of test cricket. The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India will be the last assignment for both teams before the WTC Final. It means that a few positive results could go a long way in qualifying for the final. It has been more than 20 years since Australia won a series in India. Having such dominance against one of the toughest teams in the history of the sport has been a great boon to India’s success over the years at home.

The schedule for the marquee five-match series has not been announced. But it is expected that the series will begin from January 2027 and could have a similar schedule to the England tour of India in 2024.
