Nitish was retained for 6 crores
Nitish's performance in IPL 2025 was not very good. He scored only 182 runs in 13 matches. During this, the average was 23 and the strike rate was 119. In bowling, he was able to take only two wickets. SRH retained Nitish before the mega-auction. He was one of the five players retained by SRH after reaching the final of the 2024 season. Nitish and Abhishek Sharma were the only two Indian players on whom the franchise expressed confidence.
It was claimed in the report that Nitish Kumar Reddy wanted to bat at number four in IPL 2025. He agreed to be retained only after getting assurance from the franchise. However, he played at number 5 or 6 on most occasions. South African wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen batted at number four for the team.
Nitish Kumar Reddy has scored 343 runs with 1 century in 13 innings of 7 Test matches for India. During this, he has also taken 8 wickets. Nitish's bat has produced 90 runs with the help of 1 half-century in 4 T20 matches for Team India, while he has also taken 3 wickets.
Nitish Kumar Reddy has now clarified this rumour. He posted on social media and said that there is no truth in these rumours. He wrote- I like to stay away from the noise, but some things need to be clear. My relationship with Sunrisers Hyderabad is based on trust, respect and years of shared passion. I will always stand with this team.
Along with this, according to a report by IANS, Nitish Kumar Reddy has also got into a legal tussle. His former talent management company Square The One has filed a petition against him to pay dues of Rs 5 crore under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. The petition accusing Reddy of violating the management agreement and not paying the dues will be heard in the Delhi High Court on Monday.
