As far as the highest individual score is concerned, there are a number of batters who have batted relentlessly without the fear of failure in this IPL 2025. In the month of April, 2013 the world has witnessed one of the most explosive innings in the history of cricket as the Jamaican legend Chris Gayle playing for the RCB has hit an unbeaten 175 in just 66 balls against the Pune Warriors India in the IPL. Still now, this innings of Chris Gayle is the highest individual score in T20 cricket and is talked about knocks played by the legends in world cricket. Once Gayle started hitting in this innings, he never looked back. He reached his century in just 30 balls and displayed the carnage with 17 sixes and 13 fours. The bowlers of Pune tried everything but they had no answers to this destructive innings.
The legendary wicketkeeper of New Zealand, Brendon McCullam has played a swashbuckling knock of 158 not out in just 73 balls against the RCB which has revolutionized T20 cricket as a whole. This was the first match of the inaugural season of the IPL and this innings of McCullam was indeed a defining moment in the IPL history. In his knock of 158 not out, he has hit 10 boundaries and 13 humongous sixes which helped KKR to post a mammoth total of 222.
In the 2022 IPL against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Quinton De Kock then playing for LSG played a knock of a lifetime. De Kock in his destructive knock of 140* in just 70 balls showed great amount of elegance and brute power where he smashed the KKR bowlers all round the park where he has hit 10 gorgeous boundaries and 10 sixes and there was no place enough for the KKR bowlers to hide.
AB De Villiers’ blistering knock of 133 not out in just 59 balls against the Mumbai Indians is one of the most iconic knocks played at the Wandhede Stadium in Mumbai. RCB were batting first and AB coming into bat at 20/1, has put on a record breaking partnership of 215 not out where the then skipper Virat Kohli has made a solid 82 not out. In his knock of 133, AB has showcased some stupendous shots with hitting 19 fours and 4 sixes. The highlight of his innings is shown by tremendous timing and placement.
In the 2020 IPL match where it was being played in Dubai, KL Rahul playing for the Kings XI, played a stunning knock of 132 not out in just 69 balls against the RCB. Rahul came as an opener and displayed a batting masterclass with hitting 14 boundaries and 7 sixes. In the final two overs of the innings Rahul had scored 42 runs in just 9 balls smashing bowlers like Dale Steyn and Shivam Dube.
