It is Sai Sudharsan who leads the batting charts when it comes to scoring the most runs in IPL 2025. The left-handed batter has scored 679 runs in the season in 14 games. He also scored a century in a scintillating 10-wicket victory for the Gujarat Titans against DC. The left-hander is followed by his opening partner, Shubman Gill, on the list. The GT skipper has scored 649 runs in 14 games at an average and a strike rate slightly better than Sudharsan.
Suryakumar Yadav, who created history by going past the 25-run mark each time in the league stage, ranks third with 640 runs at a fantastic average of 71.11 with a strike rate of close to 170. Mitchell Marsh and Virat Kohli make up the top five with 627 and 614 runs, respectively.
Suresh Raina was one of the earliest greats of the IPL. Known as Mr. IPL, Raina scored 5528 runs while playing for Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions. His contributions played a huge role in CSK’s success. Raina was part of CSK when they won the IPL four times. Even though he has left the IPL for almost three years, the fans still love the left-handed batter.
The first overseas player to make it into this list is David Warner. Warner has scored the most runs in IPL history as an overseas batter. The left-handed batter has scored 6565 runs in the IPL. His consistency at the top of the order is commendable and is reflected by his average. Warner has an average of 40.52, which is the highest among the top ten run scorers. With age catching up with him, Warner is close to the end of his illustrious IPL career, which included a title with SRH in 2016.
The recently retired Shikhar Dhawan ranks second on the list for the most runs in IPL history. Dhawan has scored 6,769 runs in the marquee league. He holds the record for hitting the most fours. Unlike Virat, Dhawan has won the IPL trophy once with SRH in 2016. There are chances that he might be overtaken by other batters as he has retired.
Rohit Sharma, with a tally of 329 runs in the 18th season of the IPL, overtook Shikhar Dhawan on the record list for the most runs. The right-hander is only 43 runs adrift from becoming only the second batter to score 7,000 runs in the tournament. With age catching up to him, Rohit could be playing one of his last few games in the IPL, and every run he can make will help the former MI skipper to cement his place as the second-highest run-getter in the tournament.
Virat Kohli has been the undisputed run-scorer in the IPL. He has scored the most runs in IPL history. It looks as if his record will stay with him for a long time. The RCB batter has scored 8,606 runs and sits at the top of the list comfortably, with the next best being close to 1600 runs behind. Kohli has been great with the bat in hand, but even the Indian batter would like to feel his hands on the IPL title. A trophy which has eluded him for so long.
Virat Kohli has the most runs in the Indian Premier League, which makes him the highest run-getter among Indian batters. The former RCB skipper has scored 8,618 runs in the tournament and comfortably sits at the top of the list. Kohli is followed by Rohit Sharma on the list, who has scored 6,957 runs. He is only 55 runs adrift from scoring the 7000-run mark, which will make him only the second batter to reach the milestone in the IPL.
The list also features some of the biggest Indian names, including the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, and MS Dhoni. Raina, in spite of retiring in 2021, is among the top five run-getters in the history of the Indian Premier League.
