Raigad Royals History

Raigad Royals won the title in 2009 and played the final in the next two seasons. In 2023, they were known as the Solapur Royals before rebranding as the Raigad Royals team in the 2024th edition. In the 2025th MPL season, Rushabh Rathod is leading the Raigad Royals team. The team started their MPL 2025 campaign with a win against Satara Warriors. But, they went on to lose the next two games, against Puneri Bappa and Ratnagiri Jets. They will look to find a way to get back to winning ways in the ongoing season. 

Raigad Royals Squad

The Raigad Royals squad in 2025 has a total of 27 players. They have a very balanced side with the blend of experienced players and some young bloods. The Raigad Royals team has experienced players like Savya Gajraj, Vicky Ostwal, and Siddhesh Veer, who can share their experience and insights with the young players who have just come into the side. They have several all-rounders that give the right balance to the team with a few more bowling options.

Raigad Royals Schedule: MPL 2025

The Raigad Royals played their first game against Satara Warriors on June 05, 2025, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. They won the game by 24 runs after scoring 190 in the first inning. They played the next two games on June 07 and 10, losing to Puneri Bappa and Ratnagiri Jets, respectively. The Raigad Royals team will play their last league stage match on June 19, 2025, against Kolhapur Tuskers (KT). All the matches in the tournament will happen at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Raigad Royals Captains Over the Years

Satyajeet Bachhav led the Solapur Royals (now Raigad Royals) in the MPL 2023. Vicky Ostwal led the team in the MPL 2024. In the ongoing MPL season (2025), Vishant More is leading the side.

Raigad Royals Administration and Support Staff

The Raigad Royals team has a bunch of people in the support staff and at the administration level. They have a team director in Pranit More, a mentor in Shantanu Sugwekar, and a head coach in Shirish Kamthe. The team has a batting and bowling coach to fine-tune the players' ability and to help them execute plans in the game.

Raigad Royals Achievements and Records

Raigad Royals became the first team to win the title when MPL was first started in 2009. After three seasons, the league was discontinued and started again in 2023. In the first three seasons of the MPL, the Raigad Royals team played the final in all three seasons. They won the title in 2009 and ended up as a runners-up in the next two seasons.

When the league started again in 2023, the team was known as Solapur Royals. They were rebranded as Raigad Royals in 2024. Since the 2023 MPL season, the Raigad Royals team has played 19 games and won only 8. They have lost  11 games out of those 19 fixtures across the three seasons.

Raigad Royals Best Batsman

Siddhesh Veer has been the Raigad Royals' best batsman by far. Over the years, he has scored a lot of runs for the team. In the MPL 2024 edition, he became the highest run-scorer for the team, scoring 342 runs in 8 games. He averages 57 with the bat and has a strike rate of 142.5. Veer scored three fifties in the 2024 MPL season.

Raigad Royals Best Bowlers

Tanay Sanghvi is one of the Raigad Royals' best bowlers in the MPL history. He has taken the most wickets for the team in the MPL 2024. With an average of 11.89, he has taken 19 wickets in 9 innings. Other bowlers like Manoj Ingale, Sunil Yadav, and Nikhil Kadam have also done well for the Raigad Royals team in the MPL history.

Raigad Royals Performances Over the Years

The Raigad Royals team has not been up to the mark in terms of performance since the 2023 MPL season. They have done well when the league was first started in 2009, but since the revamp of the league (in 2023), they have not been able to reach the playoffs. In the MPL 2023, they have only managed to win one game out of five. They ended up at the last point table with only 2 points and with a net run rate (NRR) of -1.353.

In the MPL 2024 season, they have won 5 games out of 10. But, with a poor net run rate, they did not qualify for the playoffs, ending second last in the points table with 10 points and a NRR of -0.341. As of June 13, 2025, they have played 4 games in the MPL 2025 and won 2. They will look to improve their record and want to go one step further this season.

Players To Watch Out For Raigad Royals

Siddhesh Veer

Siddhesh Veer is one of the key members at the top of the order for the Raigad Royals team. He opened the inning for the team, and if he manages to give good starts, he can lay the foundation for the batters in the middle order. Veer is an experienced player and has been in decent touch in the MPL 2025. As of now, he has scored 146 runs in 4 games at an average of 46.67 and a strike rate of 153.85.

Rushabh Rathod

Rushabh Rathod is the captain of the team and will look to lead from the front. He is a naturally aggressive player with the ability to hit the ball long. The wicketkeeper batter helped the Raigad Royals team to win the first game in the MPL 2025, against Satara Warriors. He scored 80 runs off just 45 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes. Rushabh will hold the key for the team lower down the order.

Vicky Ostwal

Vicky Ostwal has been the key figure of the team over the last few seasons. His left arm orthodox bowling is needed in the middle overs to control the run flow of the opposition. His ability to bowl stump to stump and vary the pace helps him get wickets and not go for runs at the same time.

Sagar Jadhav

Sagar Jadhav is a new ball bowler for the Raigad Royals team. His role with the new ball will be crucial if the team has to restrict the opposition to a small total. If Sagar Jadhav can take wickets with the new ball, the opposition will feel the pressure straight away. As of now, he has taken 4 wickets in 3 games for the team in the MPL 2025.

The Raigad Royals team has had some key rivalries against the opposition like Puneri Bappa, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings, and Kolhapur Tuskers. They have gone head-to-head against these teams, playing some close encounters over the last few seasons.
