11:18 PM: LSG wins by 2 runs

Lucknow Super Giants staged a great comeback in the fag end of the innings. At one point in time, RR were cruising and looked like they would win comfortably when Yashavi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Like Mitchell Starc, Avesh Khan too nailed his yorkers in the final over and successfully defended nine runs.

11:00 PM: Can LSG stage a comeback

Rajasthan Royals are at 161/4 after 18 overs. Need 20 runs in 12 balls. Jurel:

4* (3)

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been dismissed by Avesh Khan with a yorker crashing into the middle stumps. His wicket has given the Rishabh Pant-led unit a glimmer of hope. The right-arm pacer also dismissed Riyan Parag to end the over.

10:44 PM: RR needs 46 runs in five overs

Rajasthan Royals are at 135/2 after 15 overs. Need 46 runs in 30 balls. Jaiswal: 67* (47), Parag: 24* (16)

The game hangs in the balance with RR needing 46 runs off the final five overs. However, with Jaiswal still at the crease, the hosts would feel they can clinch the win here.

10:39 PM: Can Jaiswal carry on with his knock?

Rajasthan Royals are at 126/2 after 14 overs. Need 55 runs in 36 balls. Jaiswal: 64* (44), Parag: 19* (13)

Yashasvi Jaiswal is playing a match-winning knock here. But the left-handed batter needs to carry on and seal the win for his side. Riyan Parag, leading the team tonight, is also present at the crease.

Rajasthan Royals are at 94/2 after 10 overs. Need 87 runs in 60 balls. Jaiswal: 51* (32)

10:03 PM: LSG ends power play on a high

Rajasthan Royals are at 61/0 after 6 overs. Need 120 runs in 14 overs. Jaiswal: 40* (24), Suryavanshi: 21* (12)

LSG, courtesy of Prince Yadav, has ended the power play on a high. After the first five overs went for 55 runs, Prince only gave away six runs in his over after being smacked for a six on the final ball of the power play.

9:56 PM: Jaiswal smashes a couple of sixes on the trot

Rajasthan Royals are at 55/0 after 5 overs. Need 126 runs in 15 overs. Jaiswal: 34* (18), Suryavanshi: 21* (12)

Digvesh Rathi was brought into the attack to bowl the fourth over with the pacers going for runs. He gave away only two runs in the over. However, it meant that Pant brought in Aiden Markram, who smashed a couple of sixes by Yashasvi Jaiswal.

9:49 PM: Jaiswal gets going

Rajasthan Royals are at 39/0 after 3 overs. Need 142 runs in 17 overs. Jaiswal: 20* (11), Suryavanshi: 19* (7)

It seems to be a competition between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. After Suryavanshi struck a couple of sixes in the first two overs, Jaiswal too joined the party in the third over.

9:44 PM: Another six for the teenager

Rajasthan Royals are at 26/0 after 2 overs. Need 155 runs in 18 overs. Jaiswal: 8* (7), Suryavanshi: 18* (5)

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has announced himself with some style. After smashing a six in the first over, he smacked the first ball he faced from Avesh Khan for a six as well before hitting a four on the last ball of the over.

9:36 PM: An expensive over from Shardul Thakur

Rajasthan Royals are at 13/0 after 1 over. Need 168 runs in 19 overs. Jaiswal: 6* (4), Suryavanshi: 7* (2)

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14 years old, came to open the innings as an impact sub. He is replacing Sanju Samson at the top of the order. He struck a six on his first ball on debut over long-off. It was a powerful strike from the teenager.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the strike and struck a four on the second ball of the over.

9:15 PM: RR needs 181 runs to win

Lucknow Super Giants capitalised in the last over thanks to Abdul Samad. Each of the Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers, barring Sandeep Sharma, ended their spell on a high note. The right-arm pacer was smashed for four sixes in the final over by Abdul Samad. The hosts restricted them to a score of 180 runs.

Lucknow Super Giants are at 146/5 after 18 overs. Miller: 4* (4), Samad: 2* (2)

Ayush Badoni, after coming in as an impact sub, has made a huge impact in the game. The right-handed batter completed a half-century in the 18th over, reaching the milestone in 33 balls. However, unfortunately for him, he was dismissed on the very next delivery by Tushar Deshpande.

8:55 PM: Hasranaga gets Markram!

Lucknow Super Giants are at 131/4 after 16 overs. Badoni: 40* (27), Miller: 1* (1)

8:50 PM: RR strings together a couple of quiet overs

Lucknow Super Giants are at 121/3 after 15 overs. Markram: 66* (43), Badoni: 32* (24)

The visitors, after opting to bat first, have dominated the proceedings in the first innings. However, Theekshana and Hasaranga have strung together a couple of quiet overs, giving away only 10 runs in the 14th and 15th overs.

8:40 PM: Deshpande needs to step up!

Lucknow Super Giants are at 111/3 after 13 overs. Markram: 63* (31), Badoni: 25* (17)

Tushar Deshpande has once again remained wicketless in his first three overs. The right-arm seamer continues to give away extra runs through wides. While he has not gone for many runs, his ineffective bowling has allowed Markram and Badoni to settle into their knocks.

8:30 PM: Markram completes his half-century

Image

Lucknow Super Giants are at 92/3 after 11 overs. Markram: 52* (31), Badoni: 19* (12)

Aiden Markram has completed a fine half-century and is now holding all the aces for LSG’s batting unit. Ayush Badoni, too, has gotten himself into some groove with a couple of fours.

8:26 PM: RR on top of the visitors

Lucknow Super Giants are at 76/3 after 10 overs. Markram: 47* (29), Badoni: 8* (8)

Rajasthan Royals are on top of their guests at the Sawai Maan Singh Stadium. Both Markram and Ayush Badoni need to step on the accelerator quickly to make sure that the visitors are not behind the eight ball for the final 10 overs of this innings.

Wanindu Hasaranga, after picking up Pant’s wicket in his first over, has continued to bowl with a great amount of control, barring the last two deliveries of his second over, which were hit for sixes by Markram. The Sri Lankan spinner, after having a couple of off games in the season so far, has bounced back strongly. He has conceded 13 runs in his two overs.

8:12 PM: Pant’s misery continues

Lucknow Super Giants are at 55/3 after 8 overs. Markram: 34* (24), Badoni: 1* (1)

Wanindu Hasaranga strikes in his first over of the match. The right-arm leg-spinner dismissed Rishabh Pant in the eighth over. The Super Giants have been pushed on the back foot. They have already used their impact sub only in the eighth over of the clash.

8:01 PM: Pooran departs for a low score

Lucknow Super Giants are at 46/2 after 6 overs. Markram: 29* (18), Pant: 0* (4)

RR has ended the power play on a high. After conceding 40-odd runs in the first five overs, Sandeep Sharma came on to bowl his first over of the match and got the better of Nicholas Pooran. The left-handed batter was trapped in front of the stumps by the pacer. He was dropped in the previous over.

7:49 PM: LSG has started positively despite losing Marsh

Lucknow Super Giants are at 29/1 after 4 overs. Markram: 22* (14), Pooran: 2* (4)

In spite of losing Mitchell Marsh in the third over, LSG have started with a positive intent. Aiden Markram has already struck four fours in his 14-ball stay at the crease.
