Throughout his overall IPL career, Wade was featured in a total of 15 matches, 12 of which were for the Gujarat Titans. He was also an integral part of the squad that achieved the IPL title under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.
The Titans struggled in the last IPL season, unable to secure a place in the playoffs. Securing just five victories in 14 matches, they finished seventh in the standings. Their chances were further hampered since their last matches were abandoned due to rain.
Wade will now collaborate with head coach Asian Nehra, along with other members of the coaching staff, including batting coach Parthiv Patel and assistant coaches Aashish kapoor and Narender Negi.
Even though the Big Bash League (BBL) was recently won by Wade with the Hobart Hurricanes, opportunities in coaching are being pursued by him, though he is still open to playing in different tournaments. His transition is following a similar path to that of Kieron Pollard, who was assigned a coaching position with his IPL franchise following the conclusion of his playing career in the league.
Under his new ownership, the Gujarat Titans campaign in IPL 2025 will be initiated on March 25 with a match against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
During the auction, the Titans reinforced their fast-bowling unit by securing Mohammad Siraj (Rs 12.25 crore), Kagiso Rabada (Rs 10.75 crore), and Prasidh Krishna (Rs. 9.50 crore). The team also brought in Washington Sundar, Jos Buttler, Karim Janat, and Ishant Sharma, who were among the notable additions to the squad.
