Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad Overview

Narendra Modi Stadium, aka Motera, is one of the top-most International cricket grounds in the world, located at the outskirts of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad. It is popular for holding the largest seating capacity of 1,32,000 for the spectators. Established in 1982, the stadium is owned by the Gujarat Cricket Association. It was previously known as the Sardar Patel Stadium and later renamed after the current Prime Minister of India, who was also president of the GCA from 2009 to 2014. To this date, the Narendra Modi Stadium has hosted 36 IPL matches in total.

Upcoming IPL 2025 Matches at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

The Narendra Modi Stadium will host at least seven IPL matches in the ongoing 18th edition of the Indian Premier League 2025. The venue has been the home ground of the Gujarat Titans since 2022. In the IPL 2025, GT will commence their tournament with a PBKS clash at their home ground on 25th March and face a total of seven teams at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The Narendra Modi Stadium’s pitch assists bowlers in the initial overs and offers a chance to take wickets. However, bowlers soon lose their grip on this pitch. In recent matches, Motera has become a batter's paradise, showcasing some high-scoring matches. Fans can expect some high-octane matches from the Narendra Modi Stadium in the ongoing IPL 2025.

According to the IPL stats of Narendra Modi Stadium, the team batting first has won 16 times. On the other side, the team batting second won the matches 20 times. Narendra Modi Stadium has been witnessed of many memorable matches, including the 2022 and 2023 IPL Finals. The home ground of the Gujarat Titans team celebrated their maiden trophy in 2022 by defeating the Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets. 

Another memorable match was CSK vs GT when the Super Kings won the 2023 IPL final by 5 wickets. It was their first and only match at the Narendra Modi Stadium out of five matches played to this date.
