Who is Saaniya Chandok?

Saaniya is known to make public appearances rarely. She hails from one of the most prestigious business families in Mumbai. The Ghai family has a strong presence in the hospitality and food industry, owning the InterContinental Hotel and popular ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery. As per the official records of the Government of India (Ministry of Corporate Affairs), Saaniya Chandok is a designated partner and director at Mumbai-based Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP. Saaniya is also a good friend of Arjun's sister, Sara Tendulkar. According to reports, their engagement celebration was a warm and private ceremony with only close friends and family in attendance. However, an official statement from both families is yet to come.

Saaniya Chandok graduated from London School of Economics and she holds a degree in Business Management. Additionally to her degree in Business Management, she also has a Veterinary Technician diploma from the Worldwide Veterinary Service programme. 

Who is Ravi Ghai? 

Ravi Ghai is a prominent businessman in India. He serves as the non-executive chairman of the Graviss Group. He took over the business from his father, Iqbal Krishan Ghai, in 1967 after graduating from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. The Ghai family owns the InterContinental hotel and the desert brand Brooklyn Creamery. 

Ghai was responsible for launching Kwality Ice Cream and Nataraj Hotel (now known as InterContinental). He also introduced Baskin-Robbins in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Ravi also holds positions in other entities such as Kwality Read Estates Pvt Ltd and Perfect Livestock LLP. 

Gravis Food Solutions Pvt Ltd, the parent company of Graviss Group, had a revenue of INR 624 crores in the financial year 2023-24. On the other hand, InterContinental Hotels Group has reported a valuation of $18.43 billion in 2025.

Rift with his son

Ravi Ghai has a long-standing rift with his son Gaurav and other family members. He had accused the family members of forging his signature, committing fraud, and taking control of the company. According to a complaint filed at Mumbai’s Marine Drive Police Station, Ravi also accused the family members of ending his monthly allowances while he was undergoing cancer treatment. However, no FIR was filed as the Police believed that the dispute was civil in nature.

Arjun Tendulkar's Cricket Career 

Arjun Tendulkar is steadily shaping his cricket career. He currently represents Goa in domestic cricket and was part of the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. His professional career began with Mumbai in the 2020/21 domestic season, where he made his debut in a T20 match against Haryana. Before moving to senior cricket, he represented Mumbai at the junior level and was also part of the India under-19 team. In search of more opportunities, Arjun moved to Goa for the 2022/23 season. This season, he made his debut in both first-class and List A. So far in first-class cricket, he has scored 532 runs in 17 matches, including a century with a highest score of 120 and two half-centuries, and has also taken 37 wickets. His bowling achievements include taking five wickets in an innings and four wickets twice. In List-A cricket, he has scored 102 runs in ten innings in 18 matches, also taking 25 wickets.

Arjun Tendulkar's IPL Career

In 2021, the Mumbai Indians (MI) bought Arjun Tendulkar in the IPL auction for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. However, he was ruled out of the IPL that year due to an injury. Still, the Mumbai Indians bought Arjun again for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2022 auction. Arjun made his IPL and Mumbai Indians debut in 2023 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). His first wicket came in the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and his team won that match by 14 runs. He took two more wickets in IPL 2023 and scored 13 runs with the bat. He was retained by the Mumbai Indians for the 2024 season, where he played one match in the entire season. Although he was also ‌part of the Mumbai Indians squad in IPL 2025, he did not get a chance to play any matches in the entire season. Overall, in the five matches played so far in the IPL, Arjun Tendulkar has scored 13 runs while he has been successful in taking three wickets.
