Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful teams of the IPL alongside Chennai Super Kings. They have managed to lift the title 5 times under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. He took charge of the team in the 2013 season mid-way. Rohit Sharma won his first IPL title as a captain in the very first year of his captaincy. After that Mumbai won 4 times defeating CSK , RPSG, CSK and DC in the final. Unfortunately Mumbai has had few unsuccessful campaigns in recent years but with new captain Hardik Pandya they will look ahead to lift their 6th IPL title.

But they came back stronger in the later half and in their last league match MI needed to chase 190 in 14.4 overs. In a dramatic finish were Mumbai Indians needed a boundary on the next ball to qualify, new batter Aditya Tare came and smashed a six and Mumbai entered playoffs in style but couldn't win the title.
