Mumbai Indians History

Mumbai Indians have been a champion franchise and many other franchises seek motivation from this team. Mumbai Indians has been owned by Reliance Industries from the first season itself. Interestingly MI went on to bid for the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar and they also tried to bid for Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the first season but were unable to get the winning bid.

In recent times Mumbai Indians have been in talks for not so good reasons. The captaincy fued between Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma impacted the performance of the team last season but this season the issue looks resolved and Mumbai Indians would be looking to make a stronger comeback and lift their 6th IPL title.

2016 - Fifth

P - 14 , W - 7 , L - 7

P - 17 , W - 12 , L - 5

This season was the season when Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya announced their arrival on the big stage. Rohit Sharma was in a good form and MI was a side to beat this season . They faced RPSG in the final and it was a low scoring thriller, MI managed to seal the win by just one run.
