CID arrests HCA president Jagan Mohan Rao on charges of threatening, coercing & blackmailing over free tickets by SRH

SRH threatened to leave the home ground during IPL 2025 as well 

It is not as if the President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association has been arrested suddenly.  The Sunrisers Hyderabad management had threatened to move out of the home ground (Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium) and choose a different venue for the reminder during the IPL 2025. During IPL 2025, the franchise had levelled serious allegations of harassment against the HCA official and said that he repeatedly demanded free tickets from the franchise official. The franchise had stated in the reports that they had been associated with HCA for the last 12 years, but had been facing difficulties for the last year. 

Apart from this, the SRH general manager had mentioned in his report that before their match against Lucknow, they were clearly forbidden from opening the F3 Box 3 by HCA officials until he got 20 extra tickets. Apart from this, the SRH Manager had asked him to have a meeting with the Apex Council body on time so that they can resolve the issue. During IPL, such big allegations had created a lot of uproar at that time, although till then it was being understood that this matter would be resolved privately and comfortably. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad's poor performance during IPL 2025

Even after losing the final of IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad was highly praised because they showed a wonderful game throughout the season. They increased the strength of their squad by selecting brilliant players in the IPL 2025 auction. There was full of hope from them that Sunrisers Hyderabad would definitely win the 2025 final. But Sunrisers Hyderabad showed a completely opposite game in IPL 2025 compared to last year. Their team was never seen playing as a unit. IPL 2024 star Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head’s performance was also not as expected in IPL 2025. 

During IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad were able to win 3 matches out of the first 11 matches. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad entertained their fans well by winning the last three matches of the season. SRH’s poor performance can be gauged from the fact that there was no player from their team in the top 10 bowlers and batsmen of IPL 2025. The franchise's batting and bowling mostly flopped throughout the season. Sunrisers Hyderabad would like to forget the year of IPL 2025 as a bad dream. 

Although Sunrisers Hyderabad has no shortage of match-winning players, they looked very low in confidence in IPL 2025. Fans hope that before IPL 2026, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team will make some good changes during the auction and put the team in a stronger position and will try its best to perform well in the upcoming IPL season.
