Established in 2003, it is organised by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. Hence, it got its name, HPCA Cricket Stadium.  It is also known as the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium popular among the locals and fans. It is located at an altitude of 1,457 meters in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. Therefore, HPCA Stadium is the highest cricket stadium in the world. 

Other than being situated at such heights, almost 7000 meters above sea level, the venue is surrounded by the greenery and foothills of the Himalayas, which creates a memorable experience for both players and fans. The home team of the HP Men’s and Women's cricket, the venue can hold a 21,200 seating capacity. It is also the second home of the IPL franchise, Punjab Kings. The venue has hosted many important international and domestic games, including the IPL.
