He played a pivotal role for the Mumbai team, taking a five wicket haul in the 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was also a highest wicket taker for in the short format Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which eventually attracted the IPL franchise Delhi. In the IPL 2020 season, Tuhar Deshpande made his IPL debut. He played his first IPL match for Dehi Capitals against Rajasthan Royals on October 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
