The recent form of Mumbai Indians has surprised everyone. Mumbai Indians are known for their comeback in IPL and they are doing the same this season as well. After losing four matches out of the first five Mumbai Indians have come a long way by winning four matches in the last five games. Lucknow Super Giants are playing opposite of Mumbai Indians at this point, they have lost two games in their last five matches.
Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants have been involved in seven matches so far against each other. Lucknow Super Giants have dominated Mumbai Indians with six matches while MI could only win a single match out of seven matches.
Mumbai Indians are currently 4th on the points table with 5 wins out of 9 matches. They have been in great form recently, winning four matches in a row. Their batting and bowling department is playing with collective strength. Suryakumar Yadav has scored 373 runs with an insane average of 62.17. Other players like Tilak Verma and Rohit Sharma are also delivering from the front. In the Bowling department, Hardik Pandya is leading from the front with his valuable 12 wickets in just eight games. He is well supported by Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar with 10 and 8 wickets respectively. They are coming off a win against SRH in the last match by 8 wickets.
Lucknow Super Giants have the same number of wins, 5 in 9 matches but are placed at 6th spot in the points table because their net run rate is less than Mumbai Indians. Nicholas Pooran has been their standout batter with 377 runs at a strike rate of 204.89. He is supported by Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. These three batters are the core of Lucknow Super Giants and their performance is the biggest factor in LSG’s performance this season. Among the bowlers, Shardul Thakur has taken 12 wickets, and young bowler Digvesh Singh has nine scalps in nine games. They have to put everything on the line in this match to give a fight to in-form Mumbai Indians. They are coming off a loss against Delhi Capitals in the last match.
The weather in Mumbai will be favorable during the match with temperatures ranging between 28-33°C. The skies will be clear and the sun will be out all day long. Talking about the venue records, chasing teams have found it easy to chase the target on this pitch with short boundaries helping the batters of the second innings as well.
In the first case, If Mumbai Indians win the toss and bowl first, then Lucknow Super Giants are expected to score a total of 60-70 runs in the powerplay as it is a day game there will be very less swing on offer. LSG scored a total of 200-210 runs in their 20 overs, Mumbai Indians will chase down that total in the season innings to win the match.
In the second case, If Lucknow Super Giants wins the toss to decide bowling first, Mumbai Indians will score 55-65 runs in powerplay and a total of 210-220 runs to defend this target against Lucknow Super Giants.
So, in both situations, Mumbai Indians are predicted to win the match.

Pooran already has four half-centuries this season with a highest score of 87* against Kolkata Knight Riders resulting in a win. Pooran started his IPL 2025 season with a fast and furious knock of 75 vs Delhi Capitals and followed that up with a 70 vs SRH, and 61 vs GT. In the last few matches, Pooran has been out of touch but he will love to play against Mumbai Indians. Pooran has an average of 31.00 and a quick strike rate of 177.87 against Mumbai Indians. He has scored a total of 217 runs in 10 matches with a high score of 75.
Bumrah has played 5 matches so far this season and taken 5 wickets with his best figures being 2/25. Bumrah took this best figure in the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Bumrah is slowly finding his rhythm after a long break due to a back injury. As always, Jasprit Bumrah has been economical this season with an economy rate of just 7.90. He bowls smart and doesn’t give away easy runs. At Wankhede Stadium, Bumrah is even better with a bowling average of 24.35 and an economy of 7.32. His best on this venue is 5/21 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He will be a top bowler in this game.
Looking at the current form of Mumbai Indians it is hard to keep them out of the thinking process. Mumbai Indians have won four out of their last five matches in IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians’ players have found the required form in the last few matches. Rohit Sharma is back in form while Bumrah took two wickets in the last match as well. Lucknow Super Giants have not looked confident in the last few games and Nicholas Pooran’s form has dipped in the last three games, making it hard for them to carry the momentum of the top-order players. Mumbai Indians will win this match against Lucknow Super Giants.
