Mumbai Indians have considerably struggled in this season’s Tata IPL having only won two games in their first six games. They currently sit at the 7th spot in the table with four points onboard. However, their net run rate is still in positive so that is a positive. Mumbai came close in the match against RCB and then won a thriller against Delhi Capitals. Hence, the momentum might be shifting in the dugout.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand endured an abysmal patch of games where they lost four consecutive game after winning their opening encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders. The Orange Army bounced back against the Punjab Kings by chasing down a total of 246 runs and Pat Cummins and his Co would feel they might have turned a corner.
Over the years, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad have been part of some of the most memorable low scoring thrillers in IPL history. Both these sides have faced each other on 23 different occasions across seasons and Mumbai Indians have had the edge over Sunrisers Hyderabad with 13 wins compared to their rivals’ 10 wins in total.
Mumbai Indians on paper boast one of the best lineups in the league with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickleton, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma forming their batting attack. To add to that they have two gun allrounders in Will Jacks and skipper Hardik Pandya alongside their deadly bowling duo of Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. However, results haven’t materialised as per the talent in the squad but they will be hoping to hit the stride just at the right time.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad on paper have one of the most intimidating batting lineups in the league with the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen. The Patrick Cummins led team has struggled for consistency this season but given their powering victory against Punjab Kings by chasing down a total of 246, they will be looking to keep their momentum.

The weather in Mumbai for the much anticipated encounter between MI and SRH is going to be a dry and humid just like the typical Mumbai weather. The temperature will range from 27-32°C but the humidity is going to be 70%. There are negligible chances of rain so expect the match to go ahead as scheduled.
The pitch at Wankhede stadium is going to be a cracker as it often favours the batting side. Wankhede is expected to produce yet another red soil wicket that will favour batters but will have enough to keep the bowlers interested. So expect a thrilling contest between the two sides.
In Scenario 1, if Mumbai Indians win the toss they are expected to back their strengths and field first to put Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling under pressure.
In Scenario 2, if Sunrisers Hyderabad win the toss they would like to bat first as they’ve so often done and will want to put Mumbai under pressure.
In both scenarios Mumbai Indians could turn out to be the winners.

Abhishek Sharma was struggling for form in the current Tata IPL season having failed to fire in the first five matches of the season. However, the star opener made a roaring comeback for his side in their previous match against the Punjab Kings by a swashbuckling knock of 141 - the highest ever score by an Indian in the Tata IPL.
Jasprit Bumrah has only just returned from a lengthy back injury and missed the opening four games for the Mumbai Indians. However, since his return he’s once again proved why he is one of the best bowlers in the world and certainly the best in IPL. His impact for Mumbai in their win against Delhi was superb and he will once again be important.
Mumbai indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad both boast explosive batting lineups and given a small ground like Wankhede it is extremely difficult to predict on who will come out on top. However, Mumbai Indians might be the only team that can match SRH’s batting prowess toe to toe and given MI have a better bowling lineup, they are predicted to win the match in their home conditions.
