Now in its 17th edition, the Asia Cup 2025 competition will feature eight teams.
Participating Teams: India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Oman, Hong Kong, UAE
All eight teams in the Asia Cup 2025 (India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Oman, Hong Kong, UAE) have been divided into two groups for the league matches.
India is in group A with Pakistan, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. On the other hand, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Hong Kong are in Group B.
There are a total of 19 matches scheduled in the Asia Cup 2025. And they started with the match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on the 9th September. The final took place on 28th September.
The tournament will begin with the match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on the 9th September 2025. There was speculation for a long time that the Indian Government might not allow the team to go to the Asia Cup.
But the Indian government has given permission to the BCCI, and with this, India will start its campaign in the Asia Cup 2025 by playing its first match against Oman on 10 September. Whereas the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan will be played on 14th September.
Apart from this, there is a strong possibility that both teams will qualify for the Super Four, then there will be a second match between the two in this tournament, and if both teams continue their winning ways, fans may be treated to a third match in the final on September 28. Along with Asian fans, World Cricket fans will also hope to see 3 matches between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. However, the venues within the UAE have not been announced yet, and are expected to be named very soon. A total of 19 matches will be played in the tournament, in which every team will play at least 3 matches in the group stage. After the group stage, the top two teams from both groups will qualify for the super four, and after that, the top two teams of the super four will play the final match. According to the official schedule, this time double header matches will be played on 15 September, while all other days will be single headers and 22 September will be a rest day, while one day before the final will also be a rest day.
