So his concept was, you pay me a good amount now, or else I will take more money next year. And CSK was ready to pay him, so he came. In hindsight, CSK had a strong combination. They will go into the IPL 2026 mini auction with or more than Rs 30 crore. As per current IPL rules, the contract amount of a replacement player cannot exceed that of the player he will replace in the roster. In this case, the amount was Rs 2.2 crore as CSK had approached Brevis (whose base price was Rs 75 lakh) to replace Gurjapneet Singh, who was picked in the auction.
