“Article 2.2 of the IPL rulebook includes actions made like damaging cricket equipment or property on or around the field, kicking the stumps, breaking advertising boards, boundary fences, damaging dressing room doors, mirrors, windows and other fixtures and fittings, usually done in frustration or anger at losing the match or for poor performance. According to the IPL policies, even swinging a bat recklessly, deliberately, or intentionally and causing damage can be considered a violation of this rule.”
The momentum shifted to the Kings XI Punjab. In the match, Punjab Kings showcased impressive all-round powers, comfortably outclassing CSK. Uncapped opener Priyansh Arya has taken the league by storm as he brought up his maiden century in the cash-studded league.
He took just 39 balls to reach his hundred and also slapped the fastest hundred by an uncapped Indian, beating Rajat Patidar’s 49-ball hundred.
His explosive innings, laced with seven boundaries and nine towering sixes, propelled the Kings to a whopping total of 219 runs. In return, CSK completed their innings on 201 for five, falling short of the target by 18 runs.
After the century, the whole stadium rose to clap for the southpaw. Discussing the ongoing match, Arya returned to the pavilion with a score of 103 (39), following seven fours and nine sixes.
