Ab de Villiers was named the man of the match for his incredible batting performance in the first innings. The right-handed batter scored 61 runs in only 30 balls to help South Africa Champions go past the 200-run mark. His unbeaten knock consisted of four fours and three sixes. While wickets continued to fall on the other end, de Villiers remained unbeaten while going at a strike rate of more than 200.

The kind of captaincy innings played by AB de Villiers has played an important role in helping the team achieve a big score. In his innings, he scored 63 runs in 30 balls which included four brilliant sixes and three fours, while his strike rate was 210. In his batting, he did not give any chance to any Indian bowler to take his wicket. He helped the team reach a big score by taking 27 runs in one over of Vinay Kumar. 

JJ Smuts – 30 (17)

Smuts also did a great job in achieving a big total for South Africa Champions. He scored 30 runs in 17 balls with the help of three fours and a six. His strike rate in this innings was above 176. He played an important role in giving the team a good finish so that de Villiers could not take much pressure on the other end. However, he got out in the last over. Before that, he had performed well for his team.

Aaron Phangiso - 3/17

Aaron Phangiso was the pick among the bowlers for South Africa Champions in the second innings. The left-arm spinner picked up three wickets while giving away only 17 runs in his quota of four overs. He dismissed Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla, and Pawan Negi with his accurate bowling.

India Champions invited South Africa Champions to bat first. But South Africa Champions played well from the beginning and made good partnerships to take the team's score forward. Their team suffered the first blow in the form of Amla, who was dismissed by Piyush Chawla in the fifth over after scoring 22 runs in 19 balls. After which Sarel Erwee came to the bat and, along with J Rudolph, he gave another small partnership to the team. However, their partnership didn't last long, and both batsmen were out in the ninth over of Yusuf Pathan at the team score of 66 and 68, respectively. Then South Africa Champions captain, AB de Villiers, came to bat, and he played from the beginning with the intention of taking the team to a big score. 

On one side, the team's wickets were falling continuously, but on the other end, de Villiers was single-handedly taking the team's score forward strongly. In the end, JJ Smuts and Morné van Wyk also gave a good finish to the team by playing short but strong innings of 30 runs in 17 balls and 18 runs in 5 balls, respectively. But the best performance was shown by AB de Villiers from the other end, who scored 63 runs in 30 balls. He scored a total of 27 runs in the 19th over of the match with the help of 3 sixes and 1 four of Vinay Kumar, which gave a big boost to the South Africa Champions team. With a superb performance from the entire team, the South African champions achieved a huge total of 208 runs. 

AC vs SAC WCL 2025 Match 6: Second innings Summary 

It was a complete performance from South Africa with the ball in hand as well, after depositing India Champions bowlers to different parts of the ground in the first innings. Aaron Phangiso was the pick among the bowlers as he picked up three wickets. He received a great deal of support from the other bowlers as well, with Wayne Parnell and Imran Tahir picking up two wickets each. Parnell in particular was at his best as he gave away zero runs in the two overs he bowled, creating pressure on the Indian side. 

For India Champions, Stuart Binny was the top run-getter as he scored 37 runs. However, the all-rounder played at a low strike rate while the other batters failed to create much impact. 

Key moment of the match

1. AB de Villiers' strong innings of 63 runs in 30 balls was definitely the best key moment of this match. 

2. South African batsmen took 27 and 19 runs in the last two overs, which gave a sudden boost to the team's score, and these two overs made the biggest difference in the match. That was also a key moment in the match.

3. Wayne Parnell, in his opening spell, picked up a couple of wickets without giving away any runs. Hardus Viljoen and Duanne Olivier too picked up a wicket each as India Champions lost four wickets in the first six overs. 

4. Aaron Phangiso picked up three wickets and completely derailed the India Champions innings with his precise and accurate bowling.
