The former Indian player Sanjay Manjrekar was speaking about the build-up for the second Test match, which is starting on 2 July.
After the first match of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, Sanjay Manjrekar praised the Indian wicket-keeper and batsman Rishabh Pant for scoring two hundreds while making 134 runs in 178 balls smashing 12 fours and 6 sixes with the strike rate of 75.28 and hitting 118 runs in 140 balls while smashing 15 fours and 3 sixes with the strike rate of 84.28 in second inngins of the first Test match of the test series between END vs IND, Manjrkar also urged KL Rahul to be consistent in his good form and not be “a one-Test performer”.
Manjrekar said that "I think Rishabh Pant will carry on because it seems like he enjoys batting in Test cricket. Any batter who gets two hundreds in a single Test, it takes a lot out of you mentally, but I see him continuing this form," Manjrekar said.
Sanjay Vijay Manjrekar was a wicket-keeper and right-handed batsman. Manjrekar's international career was from 1987 to 1996. His test debut was against the West Indies in Delhi from November 25 to 29 in 1987, and his last match was against South Africa at Ahmedabad from November 20-23 in 1996.
Sanjay Manjrekar knows a thing or two about opening the innings as he had made an unsuccessful attempt to reinvent himself as an opener in 1997. However, poor performances led to him fading out of the international scene. He is currently working as a TV Commentator as well as a media pundit.
He scored 2043 runs in his Test career in 61 innings with an average of 37.14, with a strike rate of 38.67, while making four centuries and nine fifties, smashing 220 fours and one six.
He made 1994 runs in ODIs while playing 70 innings with a highest score of 105 runs, he had an average strike rate of 64.30 and made four hundreds and nine fifties while hitting 99 fours and 10 sixes.
