One of the X users who started this brilliant initiative shared a post “ Bengaluru guys, you have one job to do- SPREAD THE WORD”. He requested all the fans coming into the stadium on 17th May to wear whites in order to give a beautiful tribute to Virat Kohli’s test career. The post says “ He made so many of us fall in love with Test cricket, and even though I’ll never get to see him play in whites live, I just want him to know how deeply loved he was in his favourite format. Please think about it and help us make it real. It would mean the world to many of us. I even made a template. I also think we can raise funds to give away the jerseys outside Chinnaswamy. That’s our best chance. Even if not jerseys, plain white tshirts should do.” Not only in Bengaluru, but the cricket fans also all across the country who truly love cricket know the kind of impact Virat Kohli had in Test cricket.
Virat Kohli has signed off as the most successful test captain India have ever produced. Kohli’s captaincy record speaks for itself. Virat has led India in 68 games and out of these 68 test matches, India has won 40 tests, 17 defeats and 11 draws. The win percentage of India in tests under Virat Kohli is 58.82. This is a tremendous record as a captain. Kohli’s impact on India’s Test cricket is beyond numbers. Virat is the first cricketer to install the fitness culture within the team. After a horrible England tour in 2014, Virat transformed himself into a fitness freak. He always stressed on the fact that as a captain if I’m not fit then I can’t ask my teammates to do the same.
Virat always led by example. As a test captain, he always wanted to win overseas series. He gave complete freedom to the fast-bowling department to perform especially overseas. In the year 2018-19, Virat Kohli became the first ever Indian Test captain to win a series against Australia in Australia. India under Kohli remained the No.1 Test team of the world for the longest time period. From the year 2016 to 2021. Virat Kohli not only revolutionized India’s Test cricket but also had a great impact on Test cricket as a format. Indeed, Test cricket won’t be the same without Kohli.
