Yuvraj Singh Praises Captain Gill and Team India After Birmingham Test Win

Yuvraj Singh, who was the best all-rounder of his era, played a very important role in helping India win many key matches. Recently, He was present at a ‘YouWeCan’ charity event in London, UK. He gave his opinion about the recent performance of Team India and the players. After the good performance of the Indian team, Yuvraj Singh told ANI about Indian captain Gill, “Shubman Gill did amazing captaincy and batted really well. I'm very proud of him and I am sure that his father will also be very proud….. I'm very impressed…I hope that he goes on to make a lot of centuries in international cricket.” 

Moreover, after the second match performance, Yuvraj Singh praised almost all the players. He said that Mohammed Shami and Akashdeep bowled very well, while he was happy to see the way Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant handled the innings. Yuvraj Singh thanked all the people present at the charity event of  ‘YouWeCan’, who are supporting him and the foundation. He also told them that he, too, has gone through cancer and hopes that people will help this foundation. He spoke about helping the charity and said that he hopes that they will raise a million tonight; if not, they will keep doing more work. 

Let us tell you that former cricketer Yuvraj Singh played an important role in helping India win the T20 World Cup 2007 and the T20 World Cup 2011. He scored 1900 runs in 40 matches played in his test career, in which his highest score was 159, which came against Pakistan. He hit Stuart Broad for 6 sixes while playing against England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, due to which he has become immortal in the T20 cricket history forever. Apart from this, he has also been a member of the under-19 World Cup-winning team.

Shubman Gill’s exceptional Performance in the ongoing series 

After the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from Test cricket, there were many worries about who would replace them and, more importantly, who would lead Team India in Tests. After which, Gill got the captaincy of India for the Tests. Before India's tour of England began, there were many questions about his captaincy, whether he would be able to perform well with less experienced players, or whether he would be able to make India equal England in the series. But since the start of the series, he has put an end to the concerns of all fans. 

After becoming the captain, he chose to bat at number four, where the great Sachin Tendulkar and King Kohli have played. Although Team India lost the first match by five wickets, in the first innings of this match, Gill had put Team India in a strong position by scoring 147 runs. India's team suddenly faltered in the middle and lower order in both innings, as a result of which India had to face defeat. But many Indian and foreign cricketers praised Gill for his captaincy in the first match.  

After that, in the second match, Gill left no stone unturned to prove himself as a captain and batsman. He performed brilliantly in both innings and broke multiple records of the second match and pushed England towards a one-sided defeat. While he made his best score of 269 in the first innings of the match, he also played a brilliant innings of 161 runs in the second innings. So far, Gill has scored 585 runs in four innings of both matches, in which his average is over 146. These statistics of Gill prove how well he is capable of performing in the upcoming matches as well.
