Daniel Sams had the highest strike rate in BBL 2024/25. The bowling all-rounder scored 60 runs in the season at a strike rate of 214.28. Sams was not a regular feature in the Sydney Thunder playing 11 as he suffered a horrific collision with teammate, Cameron Bancroft. The two players suffered concussions and were ruled out of the tournament.
Sams is followed by teammate, Tom Andrews on the list as he scored 66 runs at a strike rate of 206.25. However, the season's best performer was Mitchell Owen with the 3rd best strike rate. The opening batter scored 452 runs at a strike rate of 203.60.

Alex Hales holds the record for the highest strike rate in the BBL as an overseas player. The 2022 T20 World Cup winner with England has scored 2,360 runs at a strike rate of 149.08 in the BBL. Hales has played for four teams in the Big Bash League. The right-handed batter in spite of not playing for England from 2019 to 2022 was one of the most popular batters for T20 franchises.
After his first three seasons for Melbourne Renegades, Adelaide Strikers, and Hobart Hurricanes, Hales made a move to Sydney Thunders. The move benefited him a lot as he made 500+ runs each in the first two seasons. His strike rate in these two seasons was 153.7. The Thunders finished fifth and third in these seasons. While Hales has not won a BBL trophy, he still has been one of the best batters in the history of the BBL.
Chris Lynn has the fourth-highest strike rate in the BBL. The right-handed batter has scored 3,955 at a strike rate of 149.92. He also holds the record for scoring the most runs in the BBL. Lynn’s ability to hit sixes against extreme pace in the powerplay makes him one of the most dangerous batters in the league’s history.
If not for his regular shoulder injuries in 2014-15 and 2015-16, the Brisbane-born batter could have had more opportunities to represent the Australian cricket team. His T20 form has helped Lynn to be one of the most wanted batters from leagues all over the world. The opening batter has only won the BBL once in 2012/13. During the title-winning season, Lynn scored 175 runs at a strike rate of 144.62.

3. Josh Brown (150.84)
Josh Brown has the third-highest strike rate in the BBL. The Australian batter has scored 807 runs at a strike rate of 150.84. While Brown has a poor average in the tournament, he is one of the most fearsome batters in the league. The right-handed batter is known for his boundary-hitting abilities. In the BBL he averages almost 4.2 balls for every boundary.
However, consistency has been an issue for the right-hander. His best season came in 2023/24 where the batter scored 366 runs at a strike rate of 150.61. His knock 140 in the playoff helped the Brisbane Heat reach the finals and a fifty in the final helped them to win the tournament.
2. Glenn Maxwell (155.69)
There is seldom any strike rate list that does not feature Glenn Maxwell. The Australian all-rounder is one of the best six hitters in current times. No one can forget his heroic knock against Afghanistan during the 2023 ODI World Cup where he smashed the only double century in ODIs during a chase.
However, Maxwell’s high strike rate and amount of runs have not been enough for the Melbourne Stars to win a single BBL trophy. In 13 seasons, Maxwell has only had one season where he was not able to maintain a strike rate of more than 140. The Australian all-rounder in 2021/22 scored 400+ runs for the first time in a single season. During the season, the right-handed batter struck two centuries and maintained a strike rate of almost 160.
Tim David holds the record for the highest strike rate in the BBL. The right-handed finisher has a strike rate of 157.66 and has scored 1,326 runs in the league’s history. In Australia, where most of the stadiums have large boundaries having someone like David in your team can be a huge plus point.
The Singapore-born batter has a reputation for clearing any boundary with ease. Bowling to him in the death overs can be quite tough on the bowlers. David’s height (6 feet 5 inches) allows him to have a wide reach and if the bowlers miss their mark by a few centimeters, the Hobart Hurricane batter can deposit the ball into the stands.
