Shikhar Dhawan has been the all time leader in the list of most fours in IPL. One of the finest left handed batters in India, Dhawan is known for his ground strokes and his dominance on the backfoot. In the IPL, Dhawan has played for MI, SRH, DC and PBKS. Playing alongside opening partners such as David Warner in SRH allowed Dhawan to keep rotating the strike and hit bad balls to the boundary while Warner took on the bowlers in the powerplay. In 222 matches, Dhawan has made 5784 runs at a strike rate of 127.14.
Virat Kohli is the only player who is in the top 3 in both most fours and most sixes list. Such has been the batting style of Kohli. His technique and footwork allows him to take on any bowler in the world. His ability to find the gaps and keep the scoreboard moving has what made him a match winner throughout his 16 years of cricketing career. Kohli’s strength is his ability to read the situation and score accordingly and bring his team down. In his 17 seasons with RCB, Kohli has scored 8,004 runs at a strike rate of 131.97
David Warner has been one of the most consistent batters in the IPL. This is evident with his stats, Warner in just 184 matches has scored 6565 runs at an average of 40.52 and the strike rate of 139.77. Comparing his stats to other players in this list, Warner is in a different league. From 2014-2021, Warner had been a backbone to SRH’s batting, and one of the main factors behind their victory in 2016.

If there is a batter who deals in fours and sixes, it has to be Rohit Sharma. Known as one of the greatest timers of the ball, Sharma’s name in this list is the most expected one. The elegance of Rohit Sharma makes him one of the fan favourites to watch. But the demeanour of hitting boundaries and risky batting has backfired at Sharma numerous times. This is very evident with his stats. Sharma is the second highest scorer in IPL history with 6686 runs but these just come at an average of 29.72.
Suresh Raina came across as the first batsman who mastered the IPL batting. Often known as “Mr IPL”, Raina had been part of CSK since 2008. With time he became the franchise’s most dependable batter coming at no. 3. The left handed batter is a great player who can take on spin bowlers which was a great advantage for CSK who plays their home matches at Chepauk, infamously slow turning track.
