This pitch has been good for batting since the last two seasons however before that it was a spinner friendly wicket. Teams that bat first have won more matches. The average first-inning score is 164. This means batters can score well in the first innings. In the second innings, chasing is a little tricky, with an average second inning score of around 150.

Trent Boult has dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad thrice in 26 balls. Gaikwad has scored 23 runs at a strike rate of 88.5, which shows his struggle against left arm fast bowlers in the powerplay. In 2020, Boult dismissed Gaikwad once in five balls without him scoring a single run against Boult.
Suryakumar has struggled to find any rhythm against the veteran left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja. SKY has only managed to score 48 runs off 62 balls of Jadeja while giving his wicket four times to him. Yadav will have to give respect to Jadeja in the middle overs to score big in this match against CSK.
Rohit struggling against a left arm fast bowler is a long love story and Khaleel has done that same against Rohit. Khaleel is now a part of CSK in IPL 2025 and he will bowl against Rohit Sharma in powerplay to make it an exciting battle to watch.

As the captain of CSK, Gaikwad has been an impressive batter for his team and always provides a good start to his team being dependable. Gaikwad had a great IPL 2024 season, scoring 583 runs in 14 matches with an average of 53.00 and a strike rate of 141.16. He scored four half centuries and one century in the last edition.
Ravindra Jadeja has been a part of CSK since for so long now and has been their standout player for so many seasons. Jadeja didn’t get to bat much in the last edition but he scored 267 runs in 11 innings he batted in with an average of 44.50. He remained unbeaten in five instances, taking his team beyond the line. He has some interesting player battles against Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav in this match.
The experienced opener and main man for MI, Rohit is known for his consistent performances and flawless batting technique. He has had a decent IPL season with the bat for Mumbai Indians, scoring 417 runs in 14 games with an average of 32.07. However the much awaited Rohit Sharma’s hundred did come in the last edition and in the Champions Trophy too, indicating his return to form.
Trent Boult is a key bowler for Mumbai, Boult's ability to swing the ball and take early wickets in the powerplay helped Rajasthan Royals in the last season. This is a homecoming for Boult to team Mumbai and with the likes of Deepak Chahar and Jasprit Bumrah he will take full advantage of the dot ball pressure.
Shivam Dube is well-known for his hard-hitting abilities and useful medium-pace bowling. Shivam Dube proved to be the best pick for Chennai in the 2023 title winning season. Dube continued his form in the last edition too, scoring 396 runs with 28 sixes and 28 fours.
Will Jacks is an explosive batsman and handy off-spinner who can take odd wickets in the power play against left handers. Chennai will potentially have four left handers in their top six making Jacks a good budget pick to have in your fantasy teams.
The Mumbai Indians captain will miss the opening match of IPL 2025 due to a one-match suspension for a slow over-rate offense during the previous season.
