Seattle Orcas have not improved from their last year’s form. They are still losing matches in a row. This season brings no happiness to the green camp. Seattle Orcas lost six matches out of seven in the last season and they have already lost five this season. If you combine these two seasons, they have lost ten matches in a row becoming the most losing team in the MLC. They are also close to equaling Pune Warriors and Delhi Daredevils’ 11 consecutive losses.
San Francisco Unicorns are on the north pole if Seattle Orcas are in the south pole. They have turned gold to anything they have touched yet. They did well by finishing in the second spot in the last edition and they are dominating this season with five wins in five matches, sitting on the top of the points table. They defeated inaugural champs, MI New York in their last match. Captain Matthew Short became the barrier between MI and win with his fabolous innings of 91 off 43 balls. They will be eager to make it six in six.
Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas is a batting friendly ground where high scoring contests are witnessed every time in the first 5 matches. The pitch here gives a little help to fast bowlers in the start of the match but as the innings progresses, the surface starts to slow down where spinners become effective in the middle overs. The boundaries are of average size so the batters get full chance to hit shots. The average first innings score here is around 206 which tells that this pitch is made for scoring more runs.
This ground gives consistent pace and bounce due to which batters can play shots from any angle after getting set. But during day or night the pitch gets a bit tricky where spinners show their magic. The team winning the toss should take the option of batting because here it is more useful to create pressure on the scoreboard first. Overall, the pitch of Grand Prairie gives a fair contest for both the teams but the team which bats well gets a slight edge.
The head-to-head clash is no different story for Seattle Orcas. The two matches between Seattle Orcas and San Francisco Unicorns were in favour of San Francisco Unicorns by a far margin. The Seattle Orcas won one of them in their prime inaugural season in 2023. The last two matches were dominated by San Francisco Unicorns winning by 23 runs and 6 wickets. This match will be one of the toughest fights for Seattle Orcas against a team who has been in a red-hot form, adding more pressure to their current misery. It is looking very certain that Orcas are making it to the history with consecutive third most losses in a row.
