But a strong comeback led by Karn Sharma allowed the visitors to make a comeback in the game. The penultimate over from Jasprit Bumrah proved to be the difference between the two sides. While Bumrah did not pick a wicket, there were three run-outs on three balls in a row to seal the win for the visitors.

The hosts, Delhi Capitals in order to maintain their winning streak would need to score 206 runs to win the match. The DC fast bowlers were taken to the cleaners, but it was Kuldeep Yadav who bowled with immense control on a batting-friendly pitch. The left-arm chinaman picked up a couple of wickets while conceding only 23 runs in his four overs. For the five-time champions, Tilak Varma top-scored with a solid half-century.

Kuldeep Yadav came on to bowl his third over and broke the crucial third-wicket stand between Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav. The left-arm chinaman dismissed SKY by bowling a delivery wide outside off. Even though the Indian T20I skipper scored 40 runs he never looked comfortable hitting on the off side.
Hardik Pandya now walked ahead of Will Jacks as the visitors revamped their batting order.

Ryan Rickelton opened his account with a flick on the leg side to collect his first boundary. On the very next delivery, the South African played a cover drive on the offside and once again found the gap to hit another four.
