Delhi Capitals have registered a thumping victory by seven wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Abhishek Porel scored an unbeaten knock of 34 runs and sealed the victory in style by smashing a six. The Orange Army on the other hand have now lost two games on the trot with their batting unit registering below-par totals in both games.

6:36 PM: DC needs 14 runs in five overs

Delhi Capitals are at 150/3 after 15 overs. Need 14 runs in 30 balls. Porel: 27* (16), Stubbs: 12* (10)

Delhi Capitals are moving closer to registering their second victory of the season. Abhishek Porel in the last couple of overs has struck some boundaries to get closer to the target.

6:23 PM: Zeeshan gets his third for the night

Delhi Capitals are at 119/3 after 11 overs. Need 45 runs in 48 balls. Porel: 6* (6), Stubbs: 2* (2)

Zeeshan Ansari has been the leading bowler for the Sunrisers Hyderabad making his debut for the Orange Army. He has picked up all three wickets so far for the visitors. KL Rahul was his latest victim as he castled the wicketkeeper’s stumps.

6:18 PM: KL goes 4,6,4 against Shami

Delhi Capitals are at 114/2 after 11 overs. Need 50 runs in 54 balls. Porel: 3* (3), Rahul: 15* (4)

6:12 PM: Zeeshan gets two in the 10th over

Delhi Capitals are at 96/2 after 10 overs. Need 68 runs in 60 balls. Porel: 1* (1)

Zeeshan Ansari playing his first game in the Indian Premier League has got the prized wickets of Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk. The right-arm leg-spinner barring a few loose deliveries have bowled a few troubling balls to the two overseas DC batters.

6:06 PM: Faf gets to his first half-century of the season

Delhi Capitals are at 81/0 after 9 overs. Need 83 runs in 66 balls. Fraser-McGurk: 24* (28), Du Plessis: 50* (26)

Faf du Plessis playing in his first season for the Delhi Capitals scored his first half-century of IPL 2025. He became only the third overseas batter over the age of 40 years to score a half-century in the Indian Premier League.

5:50 PM: SRH ends the powerplay with a quiet over

Delhi Capitals are at 52/0 after 6 overs. Need 112 runs in 84 balls. Fraser-McGurk: 15* (18), Du Plessis: 31* (18)

After conceding 48 runs in the first five overs, Harshal Patel closed out the powerplay with a four-run over. Captain Cummins dropped JFM off Abhishek Sharma’s bowling in the fifth over. The fielding from SRH has been pretty shoddy.

5:41 PM: JFM and Faf welcome Cummins with a couple of fours

Delhi Capitals are at 39/0 after 4 overs. Need 125 runs in 16 overs. Fraser-McGurk: 14* (13), Du Plessis: 21* (11)

Faf du Plessis has continued with positive intent against Pat Cummins. The SRH skipper bowling his first over was welcomed with a four by the South African. The game is slipping away from the visitors and skipper, Cummins needs to produce a magical spell to turn the game in the favour of his team.

5:36 PM: Faf takes Shami to the cleaners

Delhi Capitals are at 26/0 after 3 overs. Need 138 runs in 17 overs. Fraser-McGurk: 8* (10), Du Plessis: 14* (8)

Delhi Capitals have started their chase on a great note. Both Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk have collected their first six of the match. Shami after bowling a tight two-run over, was greeted with a six and a couple of fours by Faf on the first three balls of his second over. One of the four came off as leg byes.

5:32 PM: JFM gets going with a huge six

Delhi Capitals are at 11/0 after 2 overs. Need 153 runs in 18 overs. Fraser-McGurk: 8* (8), Du Plessis: 3* (4)

Abhishek Sharma bowling the second over of the powerplay was clattered for a six by Jake Fraser McGurk. Can the young Australian provide an early finish to this game?

5:28 PM: Shami starts with a tight over

Delhi Capitals are at 2/0 after 1 over. Need 162 runs in 19 overs. Fraser-McGurk: 1* (5), Du Plessis: 1* (1)

Mohammed Shami starts the second innings with a tight over. With SRH defending a below-par score of 163 runs, the Indian pacer has started on a great note. Jake Fraser McGurk has continued with his aggressive display of batting but failed to make great contact with the ball.

5:10 PM: The Capitals need 164 to win

A great bowling effort and equally good fielding have allowed the Delhi Capitals to bowl out Sunrisers Hyderabad for a score of only 163 runs. The hosts picked out at least three catches that are catch-of-the-season contenders. Vipraj Nigam, Jake Fraser McGurk, Axar Patel, and Faf du Plessis took some great catches. Mitchell Starc took a fifer, the first of this season.

5:06 PM: Can SRH go past 185?

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 161/8 after 18 overs. Mulder: 8* (9), Harshal: 5* (8)

The Sunrisers Hyderabad in spite of having the reputation of having the most explosive batting order find themselves in great trouble batting first in Visakhapatnam. They lost four wickets in the powerplay as the top order never got going. However, Aniket Verma played a great knock making 74 runs in only 41 balls.

4:55 PM: JFM’s blinder in the deep brings an end to Aniket’s knock

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 149/8 after 16 overs. Mulder: 1* (4), Harshal: 1* (1)

It looked like a special effort was needed to get Aniket to make his way back to the pavilion. Jake Fraser-McGurk stationed at deep mid-wicket plucked out a splendid catch from thin air to hand Kuldeep Yadav his third wicket of the match.

4:50 PM: Aniket continues to shine

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 140/7 after 15 overs. Aniket: 67* (38), Mulder: 0* (2)

Aniket Verma seems to be batting at a totally different surface than the rest of his teammates. The 23-year-old has already completed his half-century and has taken Axar Patel to the cleaners in the 15th over. He struck a four on the first ball before hitting two sixes on the trot.

Wiaan Mulder has been named the impact player replacing Travis Head for the SRH. Normally, it would have been Adam Zampa for the Orange Army replacing Head. However, given the state they find themselves in Mulder’s batting would be required to bail them out.

4:45 PM: DC tightens the screws

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 123/7 after 14 overs. Aniket: 50* (34)

Kuldeep Yadav continued his great form at the venue and bowled three overs while going for only 13 runs. He has reaped the rewards of disciplined bowling and already has two wickets next to his name. Along with his economical bowling, the Indian spinner has also picked up the wickets of Abhinav Manohar and Pat Cummins. Delhi Capitals, courtesy of some needless aggressive batting from Sunrisers Hyderabad, found themselves in complete control of this game. They have bowled a few tight overs and have put the visitors under immense pressure.

Phantom 777 WPLPhantom 777 WPL

4:38 PM: Kuldeep gets his first wicket

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 119/6 after 12 overs. Aniket: 48* (29)

Abhinav Manohar is the latest SRH batter to fall playing a needless aggressive shot. The visitors were in desperate need of rebuilding their innings after the fall of Heinrich Klaasen, but the wicket of Manohar has pushed them further away from getting a respectable total. Given the conditions at the ACA-VDCA Stadium, SRH would need to continue with their aggressive batting in spite of the six wickets that have fallen.

4:33 PM: Mohit Sharma gets his first wicket

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 115/5 after 11 overs. Aniket: 47* (28), Abhinav: 1* (1)

Vipraj Nigam continues to shine in his first season at the IPL 2025. The spin-bowling all-rounder completed a splendid catch to end Heinrich Klaasen’s innings. It was Mohit Sharma who picked up his first wicket thanks to a special effort in the field by the youngster.
