Gujarat Titans, after an off-night against the Rajasthan Royals, have bounced back strongly against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The hosts registered an emphatic victory by 38 runs. It was a great performance from their top order before the bowlers, backed by some incredible fielding, won the game. Prasidh Krishna bounced back to bowl a match-winning spell, picking up a couple of wickets while giving away only 19 runs in his quota of four overs.

Prasidh Krishna has capped off his spell with the prized wicket of Heinrich Klaasen. The right-arm pacer gave away only 19 runs while picking up two wickets.

11:04 PM: Ishant Sharma gets Abhishek Sharma

With Abhishek Sharma’s dismissal, it can be said that the game is now in GT’s bag. Ishant Sharma dismissed the left-handed batter on the last ball of the 15th over. 

10:55 PM: Prasidh Krishna has been the point of difference in the game so far

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 127/2 after 14 overs. Need 98 runs in 36 balls. Abhishek: 69* (38), Klaasen: 15* (12)

Prasidh Krishna seems to be bowling on a different pitch altogether. The right-arm pacer has not only picked up a wicket but has also been the most economical bowler of the night. Krishna has only gone for 14 runs in his three overs.

10:40 PM: Abhishek Sharma completes fifty

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 109/2 after 12 overs. Need 116 runs in 48 balls. Abhishek: 56* (30), Klaasen: 12* (9)

Can Abhishek Sharma do the impossible tonight? He was at the centre of all attention when the Orange Army chased down 246 against the Punjab Kings. He has already scored a half-century. Can he carry on to a triple-digit figure?

Ishan Kishan has once again failed to translate his form from the previous game. The left-handed batter was playing a scratchy knock and was put out of his misery by Gerald Coetzee. The South African pacer playing his first game of the season picked up his first wicket of the match.

10:24 PM: Gerald Coetzee comes into the attack

Gerald Coetzee, making his debut for Gujarat Titans, came on to bowl the eighth over. The right-arm pacer is known for his extreme speed. His speed worked against him as a top edge flew over the wicketkeeper’s head to the boundary.

10:16 PM: Prasidh Krishna continues his fine form

Sunrisers Hyderabad are at 63/1 after 7 overs. Need 162 runs in 78 balls. Abhishek: 30* (18), Kishan: 6* (8)

Prasidh Krishna, after an off night in the previous game, too, has bounced back strongly. In his two overs, the tall right-arm pacer has given away only 11 runs. With the wicket of Travis Head, he has also leapfrogged Josh Hazlewood to the top of the Purple Cap list.

With two left-handed batters in the middle and the power play done, how soon will Shubman Gill will turn to Washington Sundar.

10:11 PM: GT ends the power play on a high note

The hosts courtesy of the stunning catch by Rashid Khan in the fifth over has ended this power play on a high. It is not often that a team concedes 57 runs in the first six overs and still be the happier side, but such is the magnitude of Travis Head’s wicket in the context of this chase.

Prasidh Krishna would have to buy Rashid Khan a dinner tonight. The right-arm pacer coming on to bowl his first over of the match dismissed Travis Head on the third ball, but it was one of those dismissals where the fielder made all the difference. Rashid, running to his right, put on a sliding dive while maintaining the hold of the catch at deep square leg. 

10:01 PM: SRH are off to a great start in the second innings

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are off to a flier here. Gujarat Titans, for the second game in a row, seem to be struggling against a pair of left-handers at the top of the order. Their two Indian pacers, Mohammed Siraj and Ishant Sharma, are going for runs. The situation GT finds themselves in means that they would need to turn to Gerald Coetzee, making his debut for them sooner rather than later. 

9:49 PM: Ishant starts with a slightly better over than his previous game

Ishant Sharma, sharing the new ball, bowled an economical over. Coming into the clash, the veteran pacer suffered a mauling at the hands of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He gave away 10 runs in the over, two of which came as a leg-bye. Barring the six on the last ball of the over, Ishant gave no room to the two left-handers.

9:43 PM: Abhishek and Head smash a boundary each in the first over

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head are not throwing in the white towel so easily. The two left-handed batters have already smashed a boundary each in the first over. Abhishek struck a six on the first ball he faced, while Head drove a wide delivery to the off-side boundary.

9:21 PM: SRH needs 225 runs to win!

Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler once again scored fifties as the hosts scored 224 runs in the first innings. While Sai Sudharsan could not get to his half-century, the left-handed batter provided a great start to the innings and notably smashed five fours in an over against Mohammed Shami. The three top-order batters have been easily the most consistent batters of the season and have once again shown why they are the best in the business. 

8:58 PM: Buttler smashes a boundary after almost three overs

The boundaries had dried up for the hosts in the last three overs. However, Buttler read the slower ball from Pat Cummins on the fourth ball of the 16th over. He placed a pull shot to the the perfection splitting the two fielders at deep mid-wicket and long-on. 

8:51 PM: GT have setup a great foundation to fire in the last five overs

The hosts in spite of losing both their openers are sitting comfortably in this clash. Sunrisers Hyderabad was gifted the wicket of Shubman Gill in the form of a close run out. The visitors are looking to be lost against this attack. While the rate of scoring has gone down a bit in the last few overs, the Titans with Jos Buttler at the crease are still in a great position to breach the 200-run mark.

8:41 PM: A pretty close call sends Gill back to the dressing room

Shubman Gill has to walk out after a contentious decision from the third umpire. While trying to sneak a quick single, Gill was caught short at the wicketkeeper’s end. However, the replays showed that the gloves of Heinrich Klaasen made contact with the stumps as well.

Shubman Gill in the past couple of games has been close to scoring a century. His return to home has been pretty fruitful once again. It looks like that tonight could be the night where the right-handed batter goes past the triple digit mark.

Shubman Gill has scored a third half-century on the trot. The GT skipper started slowly in the season in comparison to Sudharsan and Buttler. 

Shami coming back to bowl his third over was once again taken to the cleaners and conceded 17 runs.

Zeeshan Ansari has provided the visitors with a much needed breakthrough. The right-arm leg-spinner dismissed Sai Sudharsan on the fifth ball of the seventh over.

The hosts are absolute on fire in the power play. Sai Sudharsan is already closing towards another half-century. He has already overtaken Suryakumar Yadav on the Orange Cap list. Shubham Gill too is not far behind and has scored 36 runs in 16 balls.

GT vs SRH Predicted Playing XIIs

Gujarat Titans have some of the best players in the lineups. There is no doubt over the fact that going into the tournament these two batting units were the best. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad and its top three have found life to be pretty difficult in IPL 2025. 

Coming into this game there could be a few changes in each of the lineups. Karim Janat debuted for Gujarat Titans in the previous game and unfortunately recorded the worst first over in the history of the league giving away 30 runs. It will be interesting to see whether the Titans will stick with him tonight or not. 

On the other hand, the Sunrisers Hyderabad might be tempted to bring in Simarjeet Singh instead of Jaydev Unadkat. The pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium will benefit Simrajeet who bowls much faster than Unadkat.
