Mumbai Indians have put up a dominating performance against the Rajasthan Royals. The batters, Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya did their job in the first innings. But no one would have believed that they would get this match done so quickly. The bowlers were pretty accurate, and some horrible shots from the RR batters helped them to register a win by 100 runs. Every bowler barring, Corbin Bosch was mong the wickets. Karn Sharma, coming off as an impact sub in the second innings, was the highest wicket-taker along with Trent Boult.
Rajasthan Royals are at 87/8 after 11.1 overs. Need 131 runs in 53 balls. Archer: 8* (10)
The Rajasthan Royals have been punished by the Mumbai Indians here. In the last few games, Jaiswal and Suryavanshi had bailed them out in the batting department. However, with the two opening batters dismissed cheaply, the impetus fell on other batters. They could not put up a fight and are now looking at a massive defeat.
Rajasthan Royals are at 76/7 after 9 overs. Need 142 runs in 66 balls. Archer: 3* (6)
It is a horrendous batting performance from the Rajasthan Royals. The hosts, after chasing 200+ against the Gujarat Titans in the previous game, could very well get bowled out for a score of less than 100. Karn Sharma, the impact sub for the Mumbai Indians, took a wicket in his first over, dismissing the last recognised batter, Dhruv Jurel.
Rajasthan Royals are at 66/6 after 8 overs. Need 152 runs in 72 balls. Jurel: 3* (7), Archer: 1* (4)
Hardik Pandya struck on his first ball to pick up the sixth wicket for the Mumbai Indians. The skipper dismissed Shubham Dubey on the first ball of the eighth over. The Royals are now six down, and the question now is how soon they will be put out of their misery.
Rajasthan Royals are at 62/5 after 6 overs. Need 156 runs in 14 overs. Jurel: 1* (2), Dubey: 14* (6)
A fantastic power play for the visitors. The Rajasthan Royals have been thrown into a deep sea of trouble. In spite of conceding 62 runs, they have absolutely bossed this phase of the game. Boult and Bumrah picked up two wickets each, while Deepak Chahar too got his name on the wickets column.
Rajasthan Royals are at 51/5 after 5 overs. Need 167 runs in 15 overs. Jurel: 1* (1), Dubey: 4* (1)
If you are three wickets down in the first four overs, then if there is one bowler the batters would not like to face is Jasprit Bumrah. Such is the strength of the MI bowling unit that Bumrah does not even take the new ball. Coming on to bowl the fifth over, it took Bumrah only five balls to get two wickets. He dismissed Riyan Parag on the fourth ball before getting Shimron Hetmyer for a golden duck.
Rajasthan Royals are at 41/3 after 4 overs. Need 177 runs in 16 overs. Parag: 11* (5)
Trent Boult once again was hit for a few boundaries. The left-arm pacer bowling to his former team was hit for three fours in the second over. However, just like his first over, Boult took a wicket to push RR further to the back foot.
Rajasthan Royals are at 20/2 after 2 overs. Need 198 runs in 18 overs. Nitish: 1* (3), Parag: 1* (1)
The two young opening batters for the Royals are back in the hut. Yashasvi Jaiswal welcomed Trent Boult into the attack with a huge six. He repeated the same shot again to fetch another sixer on the third ball of the over. However, the veteran Kiwi pacer was back on to his line and length and clean bowled the left-hander.
Rajasthan Royals are at 6/1 after 1 over. Need 212 runs in 19 overs. Jaiswal: 1* (2), Nitish: 0* (2)
No party for the 14-year-old tonight as the left-handed batter was dismissed for a silver duck in the first over. Deepak Chahar, after bowling a tough spell in the previous game against Lucknow Super Giants, got the first wicket in the first over.
Mumbai Indians took the attack against a relatively inexperienced bowling attack of the Royals. First, it was Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton as the two opening batters put together a century stand. They played with a great strike rate, and even with their dismissals, the story did not change for the visitors. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya started their innings right from where the two openers left off. Their strike rate got even better as the innings progressed.
Mumbai Indians are at 175/2 after 17 overs. Suryakumar: 34* (14), Hardik: 21* (14)
Suryakumar Yadav is playing a great knock here. The right-handed batter, without taking many risks, has raced to a score of 34 runs with a strike rate of more than 240. He has made sure that MI will target a total of more than 210 runs.
Mumbai Indians are at 161/2 after 16 overs. Suryakumar: 25* (11), Hardik: 16* (11)
Maheesh Theekshana has ended his spell with another expensive over. The Sri Lankan spinner gave away 15 runs in the over after being hit for a four by Hardik Pandya and a six by Suryakumar Yadav.
Mumbai Indians are at 146/2 after 15 overs. Suryakumar: 18* (8), Hardik: 10* (8)
Suryakumar Yadav has been the most consistent batter of the season. The right-handed batter has scored 25 or more in each innings so far in the season. However, in the last few games, he has upped his strike rate too. Mumbai Indians, in spite of losing a couple of wickets, have gone at a fairly quick clip. In the last two overs, 23 runs have been scored.
Mumbai Indians are at 123/2 after 13 overs. Suryakumar: 5* (2), Hardik: 0* (2)
Riyan Parag has got an important breakthrough dismissing Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai Indians, after an impressive start by their opening batters, have been pushed a bit further with a couple of wickets in the last two overs.
Mumbai Indians are at 120/1 after 12 overs. Rohit: 52* (33), Suryakumar: 4* (1)
Maheesh Theekshana, after putting up a great performance in the last game, seemed to have lost his touch. He was bowling at speeds in excess of more than 100 kmph. Finally, a ball got through Ryan Rickelton, and he was bowled in the 12th over. But has the wicket come too late for the hosts?
Mumbai Indians are at 99/0 after 10 overs. Rickelton: 55* (33), Rohit: 42* (27)
The two opening batters have got the Mumbai Indians off to a great start. Akash Madhwal, bowling his second over, made a strong comeback. The right-arm pacer, in spite of going for nine runs in the over, was impressive. He nailed yorkers for the better part of the over.
Mumbai Indians are at 90/0 after 9 overs. Rickelton: 52* (30), Rohit: 37* (24)
Ryan Rickelton has struck his second fifty in a row. The left-handed batter launched a huge six to deep mid-wicket to bring up his half-century in 29 balls.
Mumbai Indians are at 74/0 after 8 overs. Rickelton: 45* (27), Rohit: 28* (21)
Akash Madhwal, playing his first game for the Rajasthan Royals, was shown no love by his former team. The 31-year-old pacer was smashed for two fours by Ryan Rickelton. The South African proved to be a bit lucky as well with a top edge flying over the wicketkeeper’s head.
Mumbai Indians are at 58/0 after 6 overs. Rickelton: 31* (18), Rohit: 26* (18)
It is often said that the last couple of overs of the power play are used to cash in by the batters. The statement held true once again tonight. After 18 runs came in Archer’s over, Maheesh Theekshana was hit for three boundaries in the sixth over and gave away 13 runs.
Mumbai Indians are at 45/0 after 5 overs. Rickelton: 27* (15), Rohit: 17* (15)
Jofra Archer, coming back into the attack, bowled the fifth over and proved to be a bit expensive. The right-arm pacer was struck for a four each by Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. The South African batter ended the over with a six.
Mumbai Indians are at 27/0 after 4 overs. Rickelton: 14* (11), Rohit: 12* (13)
Rajasthan Royals have started their bowling innings on a great note. In spite of bowling Jofra Archer for a single over, they have contained the MI openers to a slow start.
Mumbai Indians are at 9/0 after 2 overs. Rickelton: 1* (3), Rohit: 7* (9)
Fazalhaq Farooqi was one of the three players to come into the side for the hosts. The left-arm pacer, like his bowling partner, too, found some movement in the air. He almost got the better of Rohit Sharma by trapping him in front of the stumps. However, a review saved the former MI skipper.
The is a dusty breeze blowing across the stadium, which could disturb the batters and the bowlers bowling from this end.
Mumbai Indians are at 2/0 after 1 over. Rickelton: 1* (3), Rohit: 1* (3)
Jofra Archer, bowling the first over of the game, got the ball moving in the air. He took the ball away from the left-handed Ryan Rickelton before getting the ball to jag back into Rohit Sharma.
RR won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians have some of the most exciting players in their teams. These players will be in the middle of a few great match-ups. Sandeep Sharma for the Rajasthan Royals has a great record against the MI batters, particularly Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. The right-arm pacer picked up a five-wicket haul the last time these two sides met in Jaipur last year.
Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult’s faceoff against Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel could be vital. The two RR batters have struggled in the death overs in the last few games. Meanwhile, Bumrah and Boult are coming into the clash on the back of some exceptional bowling performances in the death overs phase.
