RCB and SRH have clashed 25 times in the IPL, with the contests often being nail-biters that have gone down to the wire. SRH holds a slight upper hand in the overall record with 13 wins, while RCB has emerged victorious on 11 occasions. One match ended with no result.
Here’s a breakdown of the key stats from their encounters:
Let’s take a closer look at the win percentage for both sides:
SRH leads the head-to-head battle with a marginal 52% win rate over RCB’s 44%, reflecting just how evenly matched these two teams have been over the years.
SRH holds the advantage when chasing targets, while RCB has done better when setting totals, indicating a clear pattern in their strategies and strengths.
Despite SRH’s incredible 287-run explosion in Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, RCB has generally held the advantage at home with five wins in nine matches.
SRH enjoys a strong home advantage, winning six of nine matches played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. However, RCB’s 187-run chase stands out as a highlight.
Neutral venues have also produced tight contests, with SRH narrowly leading the record.
The last five matches showcase RCB’s resurgence in this rivalry, winning three of the last five encounters, including a memorable century from Kohli and a five-wicket haul from Hasaranga.
The most iconic match in the RCB vs SRH rivalry is the iconic final of 2016 when Aussie allrounder Ben Cutting stunned RCB with the bat and the ball and fired SRH to an 8 run victory to break Bengaluru hearts and steal the IPL crown from under their nose.
Virat Kohli delivered a vintage performance with a brilliant 100-run knock to guide RCB to an emphatic eight-wicket win away from home.
Wanindu Hasaranga produced a sensational 5/18 to dismantle SRH’s batting lineup and hand RCB a massive 67-run win in Mumbai.
T Natarajan’s deadly bowling figures of 3/10 helped SRH crush RCB by nine wickets in Brabourne, underlining his value as a death-over specialist.
Travis Head set the M Chinnaswamy Stadium ablaze with a fiery century that led SRH to a statement 25-run victory over RCB.
1. Virat Kohli (RCB) – 762 runs
The RCB icon and highest run-scorer in IPL history has tormented SRH bowlers over the years. With 5 fifties and a memorable century, Kohli remains the most prolific batter in this fixture.
2. David Warner (SRH) – 647 runs
SRH’s all-time great, Warner has notched up 647 runs with 8 fifties and 1 century against RCB, dominating during his peak years with the franchise.
1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH) – 18 wickets
SRH’s pace spearhead, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been a thorn in RCB’s side, consistently delivering with the new ball and at the death.
2. Yuzvendra Chahal (RCB) – 17 wickets
Chahal’s crafty spin has accounted for some of SRH’s biggest names. Though no longer with RCB, his contributions in this rivalry remain significant.
RCB entered into the 2025 IPL season with a completely new look, roping in player like Liam Livingstone, Phil Salt and Krunal Pandya. Under the new leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB are going in a different direction. However, despite the new direction, a similar question mark still remains over RCB and that is their lack of balanced bowling lineup.
There were talks that Virat Kohli could potentially return as captain after departure of Faf du Plessis but the RCB management who is adamant on doing things differently have put their faith in Rajat Patidar. Only time will tell whether the decision is the right one or not.
As IPL 2025 approaches, fans can expect more thrilling encounters and captivating cricket between two of the league's most popular franchises.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad surprised everyone in TATA IPL 2024 by playing an exciting and ultra aggressive brand of cricket which saw them reach the finals of the tournament. However, in the final they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in a one sided affair to ruin what would’ve been one of the most exciting stories in IPL.
Heading into the 2025 IPL season, SRH have maintained much of their same core from 2024 with the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Kumar Reddy all returning under the leadership of Pat Cummins. To top it off they have also added Ishan Kishan to their top heavy lineup, so expect SRH to play with the same gusto as last season.
However, this year, their performances didn’t run according to the expectations. The team has only registered two victories in their first eight games with all of their stars in Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan have all failed to find consistency and fire their side to victory.
