The Delhi Capitals currently sit at the second spot having won their first four games of the season before losing their first match of the season in their latest match against the Mumbai Indians. Delhi Capitals have 8 points on board and will be looking to register their fifth win of the season against a side that hasn’t been in the best of forms. 

Rajasthan Royals have been off colour this  season in the IPL having won only two games out of their first six games in the tournament. They sit in the eight spot with four points and are on a two game losing streak. Due to their poor start to the season, their survival in the playoff race is hanging by a thread and they would want to win their game to stay alive.

Delhi Capitals boast one of the strongest squads in this edition’s Tata IPL and they have been performing in exceptional manner to start out the season. With the likes of Faf du Plessis, Karun Nair and Axar Patel all making an impact at the top and middle order, the likes of KL Rahul, Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs providing strong finish to their batting lineups. In the bowling attack, Mitchell Starc and Mukesh Chaudhary are leading from the front while Krunal Pandya and Axar Patel continue to form a formidable spin duo in the attack.

Rajasthan Royals look a side that is a bit undercooked in this season’s IPL with their first six games showing some major flaws in their lineup. Their opening pair of Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal has been misfiring while they’ve received low returns from Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel this year. Shimron Hetmeyer is an explosive presence in their lineup but he’s been inconsistent.  Their bowling attack looks strong with Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hassaranga and Kartikeya but lack of support from batters and inconsistent plans have rendered them a weak side in this IPL.

Given, the warm weather in Delhi, the match is not expected to be affected by rain as the temperature will be hot around 39°C. The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium traditionally used to be slower and difficult to bat on but in the last two seasons that trend has been changed.
