The recent form of both the teams is similar as both have won two matches out of their last five games. Hyderabad lost their last match to Gujarat Titans. GT scored a huge total of 224 which was out of reach for SRH as they struggled to chase that down. Abhishek Sharma scored 74 runs but the team could only reach 186.
Delhi Capitals also have two wins in the last five games. Delhi Capitals lost their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Delhi gave away 205 runs in that match but when it came to chase only Faf du Plessis fought hard with 62 runs but Delhi lost the match.
Sunrisers Hyderabad's season has been a bit up and down so far. They have won only 2 out of the last 5 matches and lost the remaining 3. They lost by 38 runs against Gujarat Titans in the last match, but before that they had defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets but couldn’t carry the momentum in the last game against Gujarat Titans. They are sitting at the ninth spot in the points table with just three wins in 10 games. They have lost twice back-to-back against Mumbai Indians - once by 7 wickets, the other time by 4 wickets. But the big win of 8 wickets against Punjab Kings has kept their confidence intact. Sunrisers Hyderabad are out of the playoff race and will look to do everything in power to impress their fans.
DC's journey was also not much different. In the last 5 matches, they have tasted victory 2 times and had to disappoint 3 times. They made a splash by winning a high-scoring match against Gujarat Titans, but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 14 runs. Delhi Capitals are at the fifth spot in the points table. They are so close to the playoffs but they need to get back to winning as soon as possible. They have six wins out of 10 matches played so far in IPL 2025. Now Delhi has less margin for the playoffs and they will have to play with a better combination in every match – otherwise the other teams will move ahead. They will be the unluckiest team of this season to miss out on playoffs, having won the first four matches of the season.
SRH and DC have played a total of 25 matches against each other. Sunrisers Hyderabad has won 13 times, while Delhi Capitals has made its name 12 times. Both these teams are very close in head-to-head record, which makes this match even more interesting.
In the last 2 matches, in 2025, DC won by 7 wickets, while in 2024, SRH defeated DC by 67 runs. Both the teams would like to show their form in this match while remembering their old victories.
This ground of Hyderabad has always been batsman-friendly. The pitch here is flat, the bounce is consistent and the ball comes on a great bat. So whichever batsman gets set, this ground becomes a buffet for him. Till now, 82 IPL matches have been played here. In which 46 times the team chasing has won and 35 times the one batting first. This clearly shows that dew has a little influence and batting becomes relatively easier in the second innings.

If Delhi Capitals wins the toss and bowls first, the score could be between 55-65 in the powerplay and the first innings could go up to 195-205.
If SRH wins the toss and takes the same decision, the start could be a little faster – 60-70 runs in the powerplay and the total could go up to 210-220.
In both scenarios, plenty of runs are expected. But in both situations, DC has a slight edge as the predicted winner as they look a little better in the chase.
Abhishek Sharma is having a crazy good season with the bat. He hammered a stunning 141 against Punjab and followed it up with 74 against Gujarat. He is striking at over 180 and giving Hyderabad the kind of explosive starts that change games. If he gets going again, he can destroy any bowling attack. He has great average against Delhi Capitals and Delhi is one of his favourite opponents. He has hammered Kuldeep Yadav for 25 runs in just five balls in the last season. He will be the best option for the best batter.
Axar Patel is doing everything for Delhi. With the bat, he’s scored 232 runs with some solid knocks like 43 against KKR and 39 against GT. With the ball, he has 5 wickets too, and bowled a brilliant 2/27 recently. He’s that dependable all-rounder every team dreams of having. Always performs when the team needs it. He will be important with his arm bowl in this match. His chances of doing well against the left handers of Hyderabad are not higher but he is a clever bowler and captain so, he’ll find some way to do this.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is playing at home and when their batting is on, the scores have gone above 200. But consistency is still missing. This match is even more important for Delhi Capitals as they are in the playoff race. Faf du Plessis and Axar Patel are showing a bit of fight but overall the team seems unstable. They need to bring their A game in this match to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground. This season Delhi Capitals have defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad already and will be holding confidence in that match. Sunrisers Hyderabad are a very tough opponent but Delhi Capitals are still expected to win this match.
