For the first time ever in the history of IPL, each of the 13 locations including cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, New Chandigarh, Dharamsala, Guwahati, and Visakhapatnam, in addition to Kolkata, will have their own opening ceremony prior to the tip-off game of the season. Bollywood stars, musicians, and regional artists will be part of these extravagant events that will give rise to a new kind of fan experience. The Eden Gardens launching on 22nd March will be the beginning of these high-profile dominos, the ones that will come afterward, will then be uniquely flavored with local customs and traditions, hence, fans will enjoy alternative events at every venue.
The BCCI, in cooperation with the cricket unions of the states, is charging towards logistics optimization to ensure the events add to, rather than subtract from, the match timetable. The match timetable will remain unhitched and the state cricket associations work together with BCCI to organize a smooth event
The announcement of such a new initiative made by IPL is part of 22nd March 2025 till 25th May 2025 and the league is aiming at being the only high-performing, exciting T20 league globally. Indeed, not only 10 but all 74 matches of the Tournament will be played in ten teams' cities and BCCI is subsequently looking into the level of fan engagement. One of the main strategies applied by the organizers of the event was changing the locations of the openings to feature the multiple venues becoming parts of the opening package.
A BCCI source commented, "We wanted to add more flavor to the tournament so that spectators at every venue can taste the opening ceremony." The basis of the current objective is the first that happened in 2017 when it was the 10th edition of the IPL league and this time around it was increased by a lot. This league, which is close to convincing the host to have the finals at Eden Gardens, is set to be the IPL 2025 season of note throughout the country with fantastic off-field activities as well.
