Noor Ahmad was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant four-wicket haul. The Afghan spinner not only picked up four important wickets but also bowled with great control. He conceded only 18 runs in his four overs and never allowed the MI batters to get going against him. Noor’s economical four-wicket spell put the Chennai Super Kings into the driving seat in the match.

Apart from his four wickets, the Afghan spinner bowled with immense control as well conceding only 18 runs in his quota of four overs.
Rachin Ravindra remained unbeaten as he sealed the win for Chennai Super Kings. The Kiwi opening batter scored 65 runs in 45 balls hitting two fours and four fours. In a low-scoring match, Ravindra’s knock was pretty useful as he was the top-scorer among batters from both teams.
Chennai’s skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad led from the front with the bat in hand in the second innings. The right-handed batter scored 53 runs in only 26 balls and sealed the victory for his team.
Vignesh Puthur had not played a domestic match before making his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians. He claimed three wickets and proved why the scouting team of Mumbai Indians is rated so highly. The left-arm wrist spinner had spun his web to trap Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, and Deepak Hooda. His last over went for 15 runs as the young wrist spinner came on to bowl the tough 18th over.

In spite of an inspired bowling performance from Vignesh Puthur, Chennai Super Kings won the match by chasing down the target of 156 runs thanks to a great knock from Rachin Ravindra. The Kiwi opener remained unbeaten and stayed till the end of the innings to seal the victory for the hosts. Ruturaj Gaikwad had been the enforcer during the 67-run stand between him and Rachin for the third wicket. The CSK skipper scored 53 runs in only 26 deliveries.
