Parag's Confession After RR's Slip-Up vs LSG

Riyan Parag, RR captain, took all the blame on himself after the Rajasthan Royals (RR) slipped at the last moment against Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) in Match No. 36 of IPL 2025 on Saturday, April 19, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Targeting 181, RR made a thrilling beginning courtesy of an 85-run partnership for the opening wicket between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. But they lost their way going along and lost by two runs after finishing at 178 for five. Needing 20 off 12 balls, the Royals managed just 11 against Prince Yadav. Avesh Khan then held his nerve, defending 9 in the final over to seal the win for LSG. Post-match, Parag admitted he should have taken charge and finished the game.

"It's really hard to process all the emotions. Don't know what we did wrong. We were in the game till the 18th or 19th over. I don't know. I blame myself. I should have finished that game in the 19th over. We have to put up a game collectively," Parag said after the match.

Rajasthan Royals Respond to ‘Match Fixing’ Allegations

Team senior official Deep Roy strongly refused Bihani’s remarks, labeling them “completely false, baseless, and unsubstantiated.”

After the loss, Bihani claimed that the result might be questionable and even hinted at possibly tampering. In response, the IPL franchise management has formally complained to the Chief Minister, the Sports Minister, and the Sports Secretary, and raised the voice to take strict action against Bihani.
The RR management has strongly objected to these claims, stating, “We reject all allegations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading but have caused serious damage to the reputation and credibility of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI stated. They also tarnish the integrity of cricket.”

The Royals stated that they are closely collaborating with both the Council and the BCCI, under the supervision of the state government, to ensure the smooth and successful organization of the tournament. Earlier, Bihani highlighted that the RCA has a proven track record of successfully hosting ICC-BCCI international matches and events in the state.
