According to some media reports, a complaint has been filed against Yash Dayal by a woman of mental, emotional, and physical exploitation under the pretext of marriage at the office of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's online grievance portal (IGRS).
Some media sources claim that the Chief Minister’s office has asked for a formal report from the Circle Officer (CO) of Indirapuram on this matter. Finally, the case has escalated and come to light after getting caught the attention of the Chief Minister’s office. Now, it has sparked widespread attention, and the FIR was officially registered due to Dayal’s prominence in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
On June 29, 2025, a notice was issued to Dayal, directing him to provide his statement as part of the ongoing investigation. However, there has been no statement made from Yash Dayal or his legal advisors yet. The CO of Indiarapuram has been working on the official report before July 21, 2025, to solve the matter after receiving instructions from the Chief Minister’s Office.
According to reports, the complainant, who allegedly accused Yash Dayal, is a former counselor at an ed-tech company and has been in a relationship with him for more than five years. She met Yash Dayal through social media in late 2020, with their first in-person meeting occurring in Prayagraj. The woman cited that under the pretext of the marriage, Dayal encouraged her into a relationship which led her into emotional, mental, and financial distress. He treated her as his to be wife and introduced her to his family, where she was treated as a prospective daughter-in-law. But soon she found out about his other misleading relationships with multiple women, prompting her to take legal action. She also mentioned multiple times detailed instances of physical violence and mental harassment, particularly when she confronted Dayal about his alleged deception.
The complainant also claims the evidence, such as chat records, screenshots, video call logs, and photographs, some of which she shared on social media, to prove her allegations.
One of the evidence is a photo from a trip to Ooty, featuring the complainant, Yash Dayal, his sister, and a friend, which shows the intensity of their relationship. The woman demands justice for herself and all the other women who were misguided and exploited by Yash Dayal.
She said, “Power, money, and fame are being used to cover this up. But I have full faith in the law.”
Regarding this matter, the family of Yash Dayal is now refusing to know this woman; his father said he does not know the woman. On the other end, according to the woman, she stayed with the family multiple times in 2022 and 2023. She also shares a strong bond with Dayal’s sister.
She added, “I could have walked away, but how would I know he was cheating? He never showed it. I left it to God, but when his family started speaking badly about me, I decided to take legal steps.”
Yash Dayal is one of the prominent fast bowlers in the IPL and the Indian cricket team. He played a crucial role in the RCB’s historic IPL 2025 title win, taking 13 wickets in 15 matches. He has not yet issued a public statement in response to the allegations. His silence on the whole matter is now fueling the whole controversy. Now, all eyes are on the Uttar Pradesh police and the judicial process to ensure transparency and justice.
The victim is set to give her statement to the Ghaziabad police in front of a magistrate. Reportedly, she had already shared electronic evidence suggesting that the left-arm pacer abused her “emotionally, physically, and mentally.”
Dayal, who plays for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket, was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru title-winning team in IPL 2025. After recording the victim’s statement, a medical examination will be done.
An FIR was filed against the fast bowler under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). If found guilty, Dayal could be jailed for a maximum period of 10 years without any chance of bail.
Given his individual and RCB’s recent success, Yash Dayal has become an integral part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, the recent events leading to Dayal being booked under Section 69 of BNS could keep him out of the action of the marquee T20 tournament.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not impose any automatic punishment in such cases. Each case where an FIR is made against a player is treated and reviewed differently, taking into account the repercussions it could have.
However, while there is no immediate suspension in Dayal’s case, the left-arm pacer could be banned on the basis of the seriousness of the allegations made against him.
Yash Dayal, after being under constant criticism following a sexual exploitation FIR, has filed a counter-complaint. The left-arm pacer filed a detailed three-page complaint at Khuldabad Police Station in Prayagraj. He accused the woman of stealing Dayal’s iPhone and laptop.
The RCB pacer further accused the woman of borrowing lakhs of rupees with a promise to pay him back. The money was borrowed for medical treatments but was never returned to the pacer.
Dayal made some more allegations against the woman, saying that she requested more funds for shopping and other needs. The 27-year-old bowler went a step further to claim that he has evidence to back his allegations.
