Shikhar Dhawan launches ‘The One’ autobiography

Shikhar Dhawan's journey has so far been full of ups and downs. Now the cricketer takes us on a deep dive into his life through his own words. Dhawan published an Instagram reel on his official account to formally announce the release of his memoirs.

The announcement by Dhawan, nicknamed the ‘Gabbar’, included a deeply emotional and thought-provoking message from the former India batsman who has played several key knocks.

Dhawan stated that his autobiography is a story of the in-between of the wins and losses he has endured in his long career. “Not every win makes it to the highlights. Not every loss shows on the scoreboard. 'The One' is the story of all the in-betweens. Of learning, unlearning, and showing up, every single time. This one's from the heart,” the words from Dhawan read.

From Shikhar Dhawan's early years in Delhi, when he dreamed of playing for India, to his victories and self-reflective setbacks that shaped his career, "The One" presents the full picture of his unvarnished life. It emphasizes his journey from a young boy dreaming of national acclaim to a respected modern stalwart of Indian cricket, wearing the blue with pride.

Shikhar Dhawan has risen to significant prominence through his performances for India. ‘The One’ will delve into the overlooked moments, the emotional challenges of injury, the internal battles with self-doubt, and the spirit of comeback, all while highlighting the extraordinary achievements that mark his career.

Shikhar Dhawan’s personal life struggles

Before reaching the heights of greatness, Shikhar Dhawan got engaged to Melbourne-based kick-boxer Aesha Mukherjee in 2008. Dhawan met Aesha through an introduction from fellow countryman Harbhajan Singh. The duo got married in 2012. Dhawan is 12 years younger than Aesha Mukherjee, who has two daughters from a previous marriage.
Dhawan legally adopted her two daughters, Aliyah and Rhea, from her former husband, and they welcome a son named Zoravar, born in December 2014. But the duo ended their marriage in 2021 and were granted a divorce on 5 October 2023.
Recently, Shikhar Dhawan has been spotted spending quality time with an Irish professional product consultant Sophie Shine. Although Shikhar Dhawan has remained silent regarding his personal relationship, Sophie Shine chose to make an official announcement through her Instagram, sharing a post in collaboration with Dhawan, with the caption reading, 'My love' alongside a red heart emoji.
