Here are the details of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025 Teams and their captains-

Annually, eight teams participated with  16 to 20 players in each team, including up to two outstation players in the TNPL. Each team faces each other in a round-robin stage and gets points for a win. Finally four top teams participated in the playoffs (two qualifiers, eliminator, final). Previously, in the 2024 Final TNPL, Dindigul Dragons, led by R Ashwin, won their maiden title by defeating the Kovai Kings by 6 wickets at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.

As of 2025, the TNCA has successfully organised the eight season of the TNPL while ninth running The ninth season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League is taking place from 5 June to 6 July 2025 at multiple venues- SNR College Cricket Ground, SCF Cricket Ground, Indian Cement Company Ground, and NPR College Ground.

Most Sixes in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2024 

Shivam Singh has the record for the most sixes of 23  in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2024. Shivam Singh slammed 23 sixes while scoring 364 runs from 10 matches. He was the top run scorer of the season while playing for Dindigul Dragons in 2024.

Over the years, TNPL has been one of the most entertaining regional T20 leagues with high-octane matches, close contests, and big hitting boundaries.  The tournament has witnessed many big hitters who ambush the boundaries with their powerful strokes. In the completion of nine seasons of the Tamil Nadu Premier League, who are the top batsmen with the most sixes in the tournament history?

1. Baba Aparajith - 113 Sixes

Baba Aparjith is the top batter who has hit the most sixes in the Tamil Nadu Premier League history. Baba Aparjith has slammed 113 sixes while scoring 2267 runs from 63 matches with an average of 46.26 and a strike rate of 136.23. He is one of the top run scorers in the TNPL history as well. He is one of the formidable batsmen known for maintaining long innings and big hits in the TNPL. 

2. Sanjay Yadav - 109 Sixes

Sanjay Yadav is the second batsman who has hit the most sixes in the TNPL. Sanjay Yadav is a consistent performer with big-hitting and match-winning knocks. He has hit 109 sixes from his 61 matches and scored a total of 1568 runs with a strike rate of  145.99. He previously played for Chepauk Super Gillies, Nellai Royal Kings, VB Kanchi Veerans, and VB Thiruvallur Veerans. Ahead of 2025, Sanjay Yadav was retained by his previous franchise, Trichy Grand Cholas, in the TNPL.

3. Arun Karthik - 90 Sixes

Arun Karthik is the next batter on the list of the most sixes in the TNPL from 2016 to 2025. Arun Karthik has slammed 90 sixes while playing 67 matches and scored 2304 runs at a strike rate of 148.93. He is one of the top performers in the tournament with the most 3 centuries and the best strike rate in TNPL history. Previously played for Siechem Madurai Panthers, Aurun Karthik is a valuable asset of the Nellai Royal Kings, leading the team ahead of the 2025 TNPL.  

4. Rajendran Vivek - 89 Sixes

Next, we have Rajendran Vivek on the list of the top batsmen with the most sixes in the TNPL history. During his career, R Vivek has slammed 89 sixes while playing 65 matches in the TNPL. He has bagged 1149 runs with an average of 24.44 and a strike rate of 163.21, which is the best strike rate in the history of TNPL.    

5. Hari Nishaanth - 87 Sixes

The fifth batsman with the most sixes in the TNPL is Hari Nishaanth, who has slammed 87 sixes to date. Former Hari Nicaptain of Dindigul Dragons, Chezhian Hari Nishaanth, has bagged 87 sixes from 65 matches while scoring 1731 runs at a strike rate of 128.03. Other than leading Dindigul Dragons, Hari Nishaanth has represented Salem Spartans, Siechem Madurai Panthers, and VBTV.
