Both Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will share points as the match was called off due to the wet outfield at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The hosts, SRH, have now only seven points in 11 games, which means that they are out of the tournament. DC, on the other hand, now has 13 points in 11 games.
A complete bowling performance from the hosts has meant that they have restricted Delhi Capitals to a score of 133 runs. Pat Cummins was the star performer with the ball in hand. The SRH skipper picked up three wickets in his spell while giving away only 19 runs in his four overs. He was duly supported by the rest of the bowlers and some great fielding as well.
However, the visitors would be happy with the score, considering they had lost five wickets with only 29 runs on the board. Ashutosh Sharma, coming off as an impact sub to bat at number eight, made the difference with the bat in hand in the innings. The right-handed batter scored 41 runs before he was dismissed in the final over. Tristan Stubbs played an anchor-like knock, scoring 41 runs in 36 balls.
Delhi Capitals are at 105/6 after 17 overs. Stubbs: 26* (28), Ashutosh: 30* (17)
Ashutosh Sharma is playing a great knock here and is pushing his team to a respectable total at least. He struck a couple of fours to end the 17th over with 12 runs coming off the over.
Delhi Capitals are at 93/6 after 16 overs. Stubbs: 25* (27), Ashutosh: 21* (12)
Pat Cummins, having been the pick among the bowlers, finished his impressive spell. The SRH skipper, after picking up a wicket each in his first three overs, gave away only seven runs in his last without picking up a wicket.
Delhi Capitals are at 86/6 after 15 overs. Stubbs: 22* (24), Ashutosh: 17* (9)
The spinners have not been able to extract anything from the surface. Only three sixes have been in the innings so far, and all of them have come against Zeeshan Ansari. The young leg-spinner bowling his third over was smashed for two sixes down the ground by Ashutosh Sharma as 14 runs came of the over.
Delhi Capitals are at 72/6 after 14 overs. Stubbs: 21* (22), Ashutosh: 4* (5)
Jaydev Unadkat has bowled out his four overs to finish an economical spell. The left-arm pacer, while only picking up a solitary wicket, gave away only 13 runs in his 24 balls.
Delhi Capitals are at 67/6 after 13 overs. Stubbs: 18* (19), Ashutosh: 2* (2)
A batting collapse is often incomplete without a run-out. The only thing this horrendous batting effort from DC needed to fully come to the party was a run-out, which came in the form of Vipraj Nigam’s dismissal. It was again the first ball of an over with Zeeshan Ansari coming back to bowl from the opposite end. Stubbs pushed a delivery to the leg side, and both the batters ran the first run pretty hard. However, Vipraj stayed stationary at the batter’s end, but Stubbs ran the second run as well. Vipraj got out of his crease, sacrificing his wicket for the experienced Stubbs.
Ashutosh Sharma has come to the crease as an impact sub for the Capitals.
Delhi Capitals are at 61/5 after 12 overs. Stubbs: 14* (15), Vipraj: 18* (17)
Zeeshan Ansari has been replaced in the attack after a solitary over. Harshal Patel came back to bowl his second over and was smashed for a four on the third ball by Tristan Stubbs.
Delhi Capitals are at 47/5 after 10 overs. Stubbs: 4* (8), Vipraj: 14* (12)
Finally, a big over came for the Capitals as soon as spin was introduced in the clash. Zeeshan Ansari, bowling his first over, was greeted with a huge six by Vipraj Nigam before the over ended with a streaky four.
Delhi Capitals are at 37/5 after 9 overs. Stubbs: 4* (8), Vipraj: 4* (6)
It has been nine overs and the Delhi Capitals are already out of this clash. Not only have they lost five wickets, but the rate of scoring is only 4.1 runs per over. Only three boundaries have been smashed in the innings so far, and there seems to be a lack of intent to hit any more boundaries.
Delhi Capitals are at 30/5 after 8 overs. Stubbs: 1* (5), Vipraj: 1* (3)
For the fourth time in this game, the Orange Army has picked up a wicket on the first ball of the over. It was Pat Cummins who did it thrice in three overs, and Jaydev Unadkat, bowling his third over, now dismissed KL Rahul on the first ball of the eighth over.
Delhi Capitals are at 29/4 after 7 overs. Rahul: 10* (13), Stubbs: 1* (3)
Sunrisers Hyderabad are all over their opponents at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The hosts have restricted the Capitals to a score of only 29 runs at the end of seven overs and in the process have taken four wickets as well.
Delhi Capitals are at 26/4 after 6 overs. Rahul: 8* (9), Stubbs: 0* (1)
Harshal Patel replaced Jaydev Unadkat in the attack as he came on to bowl the final over of the power play. The move worked brilliantly in favour of the hosts as he dismissed the opposition skipper. Cummins can not be kept out of the game as he took the catch to send his opposite number back to the dressing room.
Delhi Capitals are at 19/3 after 5 overs. Rahul: 3* (6), Axar: 4* (5)
Pat Cummins is bowling his team to victory here in the power play. Once again, the Australian pacer picked up a wicket off the first ball of the over. The decision to keep Abhishek Porel at number three has failed for the Capitals. Axar Patel and KL Rahul have to bail DC out of trouble like they have with the Indian Cricket Team.
Delhi Capitals are at 15/2 after 4 overs. Porel: 8* (9), Rahul: 3* (6)
KL Rahul this season has been on a mission to prove a point to his former teams. The right-handed batter played for the Orange Army in two seasons at the beginning of his IPL career. The visitors need a big knock from their experienced batter tonight to put up a fighting total.
Delhi Capitals are at 11/2 after 3 overs. Porel: 6* (7), Rahul: 1* (2)
Once again, Pat Cummins has taken a wicket off the first ball of the over. The SRH skipper dismissed Faf du Plessis on the first ball of the third over. Delhi Capitals, desperately needing a win, have been pushed to the back foot.
Delhi Capitals are at 3/1 after 1 over. Faf: 1* (3), Porel: 1* (2)
Pat Cummins, opening the bowling for Sunrisers Hyderabad, struck on the very first ball of the match as he caught the outside edge of Karun Nair’s bat. Nair was promoted to the top of the order in place of Abhishek Porel, who walked to the crease on the second ball itself.
SRH won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

It is now or never for the Delhi Capitals, who find themselves on a two-match losing streak at the worst possible time. Unfortunately for the visitors, they face a team with little to lose. DC skipper Axar Patel injured his hand while fielding in the previous game but returned to bat in the second innings. His availability could pose a problem for the Capitals. Apart from Axar, no player on either team is expected to miss this clash.
