Emerging Sri Lankan talent Matheesha Pathirana is a right-armed pacer with a unique sling action. 22-year-old Matheesha Pathirana played for many Domestic and International T20 leagues, including LPL, Major League Cricket 2025, Bangladesh Premier League, and Sri Lanka’s Domestic cricket. In the 2022 IPL season, Matheesha Pathirana made his IPL debut with Chennai Super Kings against Gujarat Titans on May 15 at Wankhede Stadium. In his first match, Matheesha Pathirana only delivered 3.1 overs while scalping two wickets for 24 runs. He also achieved a rare feat after dismissing Shubman Gill and became a bowler who took a wicket with their first ball on IPL debut.
