Digvesh Rathi, the spinner of the Lucknow Super Giants has been exceptional with the ball having picked up 14 wickets in his debut IPL. But his notebook celebration after taking a wicket is costing him and his owner a small amount of money. Rathi was fined 25 percent of his match fee against the Punjab Kings in match number 13 where he had done a signing notebook celebration after dismissing the Punjab opener Priyansh Arya. Then again for the second consecutive time, Rathi was fined 50 percent of his match fees in the match number 16. Then again in match number 61, Rathi was fined 50 percent of the match fees against the SRH.
Ishant Sharma is in the later stage of his career where he is doing quite a decent job for the Gujarat Titans. Leave aside one year, the Gujarat Titans has been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL. In the match nineteen, Pacer Ishant Sharma was fined 25 percent of his match fees where he also got one Demerit Point for breaching the IPL code of conduct against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Punjab Kings is having an excellent season under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and coach Ricky Ponting. Their opening batters are doing exceptionally well to lay down the platform for the rest of the middle order batsmen. From the likes of Shreyas Iyer to Marcus Stoinis, most of the batters are clicking at the right time. But the Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, as expected, is having a season to forget. In the 22nd match against the Chennai Super Kings, Maxwell was fined 25 percent of his match fees and got one Demerit Point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.
In cricket matches especially in the IPL, often the cricketers on the field get sanctioned for different activities. But in this case interestingly, the bowling coach of Delhi Capitals Munaf Patel was fined 25 percent of his match fees and Munaf too got a demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct in their home match against Rajasthan Royals.
In this case too, one support staff member was fined. In the 56th match against the Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra was fined 25 percent of his match fee and he has also got a demerit point under the Level 1 offence in Article 2.20. At the end of the match Ashish Nehra accepted the decision.
