Jasprit Bumrah has been given the fitness clearance by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The Indian pacer joined the Mumbai Indians camp a day before their high-octane clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
With his arrival in the team, the Hardik Pandya-led side would look like a completely different unit. He will certainly bolster the pace attack, which already includes Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar. It would be a dream come true moment for all fast bowling fans to see Bumrah, Boult, and Chahar in action under the night sky of the Wankhede Stadium.
Bumrah had injured his back during the fifth test of the iconic Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 down under. His performance was so incredible that in spite of being on the losing side and missing half of the last test, the Indian pacer was named the player of the series. He remained out of action and missed out on winning the Champions Trophy with the Indian cricket team.
On the eve of the MI-RCB clash, head coach, Mahela Jayawardene announced that the ace pacer would be fit to play against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has an incredible record against the franchise and would be looking forward to making a huge impact in his first game in three months.
Every batter from the RCB camp would be losing their sleep over the thought of facing Jasprit Bumrah. Something lights up within the Indian pacer when he faces the Rajat Patidar-led side. It helps that Bumrah has a stellar record against RCB’s best batter, Virat Kohli. He has dismissed the right-handed batter five times in the IPL.

Jasprit Bumrah IPL 2025 Profile: Team, Price, Stats, and Records
Meanwhile, Sanju Samson has completed his recovery process, undergoing surgery on his right index finger recently. While the Centre of Excellence physios have been satisfied with Samson’s ability to bat without any discomfort, they would want to take a closer look at his comfort levels while wicket-keeping.
On behalf of Samson, Dhruv Jurel was there to take up that role during the IPL, fast bowler Mayank Yadav’s last competitive match for Madhya Pradesh against Kerala in January, where he has also been gone through a back injury. He has been recovering at the NCA ever since, along with Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) players Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan.
