Kamlesh Pisal, the MhCA secretary, has said that they are in talks with the BCCI and are waiting for a formal clearance. “ We are waiting for a formal clearance from the BCCI about the revised window. As soon as we get a go-ahead, we will announce the revised fixtures.” Abhay Hadap, the MCA secretary, has voiced the same opinion. “ The IPL has just been rejigged, so it’s understandable that it will take a few days more for T20M to be reorganised.

Mumbai Monsson, a concern?

Even if the T20 Mumbai League and MPL starts after a week, the fate of the tournament does not look good at all. Because the Mumbai monsoon is set to arrive on June 10. And if the matches happen, there is a possibility that most of them get washed out. The auction of the Mumbai T20 League was a pretty successful one. The auction which was held on May 7, saw the purchase of some outstanding talents. 

The eight franchises have spent a total amount of Rs 7.79 crore with 280 players on stake. Atharva Ankolekar was the most expensive local player purchased by Eagle Thane Strikers for Rs 16.25 lakhs. Young talents and known IPL commodities Ayush Mhatre and Angkrish Raghuvanshi also went for Rs 14.75 lakh and Rs 14 lakh respectively. Each eight teams in this league also has icon players who will be the face of the respective teams. From Ajinkya Rahane to Shreyas Iyer from Prithvi Shaw to Shivam Dube, each team has an identity.
